A very puggy Christmas

Zoe is crate trained and has to be in her crate anytime we leave the house.  She still has a LOT of mischievous puppy in her.  We try really hard not to leave her in her crate for more than a few hours at a time.  So we try to take her with us to visit family if we’ll be gone for a while. This is usually not a problem as most of our family members are dog people.  However, CSP’s parents are cat people and they’ve never had a dog in their house.  This year they said they’d put the cats upstairs and we could bring Zoe as a trial run.  We brought her travel crate just in case, but she was beautifully behaved!  She loved on everyone, went potty in the pouring rain like a champ, and had a great time! She even wore her Santa hat for a few pictures. My loves Then it was time to open her stocking. This looks like it's for me, Dad! Next it was time to cuddle with Grandpapa. A little bit of Grandpapa & Zoe love All the festivities can make a girl tired. It was time to chill out with Daddy. Zoe & her dad chillin like villians We had a fabulous crown roast for dinner.  And a great time with CSP’s side of the family.

Christmas Eve my family came to our house to celebrate.  We all brought fun party food and enjoyed hanging out with each other.  I was too busy being a hostess to take pictures.  I’m really regretting that now.  More photos here.

Be Heifer!

Tonight CSP & Papa went to see the Carolina Panthers play the Minnesota Vikings here in Charlotte. Papa & CSP all decked out for the Panthers/ Vikings game! CSP was SO excited!  It was his first time seeing his beloved Vikings in 20 years, since he lived in Minnesota where he was born.  My boys were so cute all done up in their respective team gear. CSP, my conservative CSP who won’t even wear stripes, donned purple and gold Mardi Gras beads to support his VIkings!  It was soooo cold so they had on tons of layers and Papa had his Panthers Santa hat.

We drove down to Papa & Gigi’s house and picked them up then headed back uptown to drop the boys off for the game.  There were people EVERYWHERE!  We were excited to see some Vikings fans amongst the Panther fans.  We even saw some horned helmets!  The people were all over the streets and there wasn’t a really good place to drop them off.  So I just pulled over on the side of the road in the opening of a parking lot.  CSP jumped right out, gave me a goodbye kiss through the window then got out of the street.  Meanwhile, Papa had the back door open and was getting dressed!  He hadn’t put on his pullover or jacket yet.  Gigi had her window down and we were yelling out to the boys.  Things like “Have Fun!” etc.  I was about to yell something when Gigi yelled “BE HEIFER!”  What???  Be heifer?  WTH does that mean?  She was trying to say Behave and Be careful but it came out Be Heifer!  We dissolved in giggles and pulled away.  We were laughing so hard we ended up getting all turned around amidst all the one way streets and it took over 30 minutes to get back to the highway!

We went to have dinner at the restaurant where Momo works.  We get a 25% discount there.  Woot!  Momo was so excited, she didn’t know we were coming and ran over to hug me when she saw me.  I love her so much.  We had a great time at dinner then went back to Gigi’s to hang out until the game was over.  Gigi went to bed so Momo went with me to pick up the boys.   Don’t worry Gigi, Momo and I were very Heifer!  😀

Slacker Elf

So, there won’t be a pug picture in this year’s Christmas cards.  😦  I’m bummed about it but there’s nothing I can do at this point.  We were late getting our tree  and decorations up and those serve as the backdrop for the picture.  So please accept my apologies, family and friends and just picture in your head how cute our puggies are.

Get ready to squeal

A few weeks ago Lisa sent me the link to a YouTube video that was so gross & squeal worthy I promptly forwarded it to friends and family. Out of curiosity I thought I’d see if anyone else out there thought to record their zits, cysts, & boils. Oh Em Gee. You would NOT BELIEVE how many videos there are of people squeezing, popping, slicing, and poking at all their bumps.  I have never in my life seen such giant growths just hanging out on peoples’ skin!  Don’t believe me?  Go to YouTube and type in the search bar cyst, pimple, boil, or zit.  You might want a puke bucket handy!

I heart the birthday boy

Saturday was CSP’s 38th birthday! We went out to his parents’ house for his birthday dinner. We brought them their Christmas tree and CSP helped his dad set it up. CSP & his dad setting up their tree The Christmas tree lots in their town aren’t as good as the ones in our town so we picked up their tree for them. CSP & his dad pulling the twine off the tree They paid us back, we aren’t forestry elves.
Each year CSP’s mom makes a themed cake for CSP’s birthday. He’s an only child. This year the theme was Spongebob. Spongebob cake made by CSP's mom We’re not exactly sure why. CSP's presents were Spongebob themed this year Sure, CSP enjoys the show as much as the next guy, but he’s no mega fan. His parents had a great time with it, and the cake was fantastic so it was all good. I wonder what CSP’s wishing for here: CSP making his birthday wishSpongebob's shirt is on fireCSP blowing out his candles More pictures here.

Gettin down with Gmommy

Friday night was the annual nursing home Christmas extravaganza. Papa, Gigi & Gmommy Sara, Jacob, Joey, Momo, her friend Brittany, Papa, Gigi & I all turned out to celebrate with Gmommy. GmommyThe nursing home put out a yummy buffet of Southern holiday favorites: sweet potatoes with marshmallows, green been casserole, ham, turkey, pies, mac & cheese, the works. After dinner we were treated to some elder boogie. Mrs. Kelly (this cute little lady who is convinced she’s in Pennsylvania)Mrs Kelly's getting down and Gmommy were really getting down! We had a great time and it’s so nice to see so much joy in an Alzheimer’s wing of a nursing home. Gmommy & her great grandchildren, Jacob & Joey Even the lady who normally complains and curses at people had a half smile on her face!  More pics here.

Respect the ‘stache

I’ve noticed lately that the mustache had made a comeback!  Maybe not on lots of faces, but definitely on gifts and fun housewares.  Some may claim differently, but I’m sure the ‘stache’s newfound popularity is thanks to me & Senor Mustachio.  Senor Mustachio is Shannon HG’s husband Tony.  I met him and his stache and promptly named him Senor Mustachio cause he rocks the stache like it’s his job.  People notice when you’re confident and I bet the world saw Tony and his sexy rexy alter ego Senor Mustachio and said “I have got to get in on that action!”

If you’re itchin to rock a ‘stache of your own, check out some of the mustache themed items I’ve found online!  I looove this mirror.  How cute are these socks?   Even your dog can get in on the mustache rage with this toy. Cafe press has a gajillion mustache themed items.  And there’s even an App for that!  I used the app Mustache Me to give Emily a mustache to match her daddy’s.Like father, like daughter! So cute!!
