We have a fast food chain in our area called Cook Out. I’d link their site but they don’t have one. They are v. v. mysterioso. What they do have is milkshakes. Tons of flavors. Like 30 something. And every summer they advertise on their big sign their watermelon milkshakes. And every summer the idea of watermelon milkshakes creeps me out. Until this summer. I tried one and y’all. That’s a good way to eat a watermelon. I mean sure, you could go pick an actual melon and chill it and cube it and eat it and be healthy. But why do that when you could mix it with ice cream and slurp it up through a straw? I mean, this IS America.

Last year for Father’s Day I gave my Dad (Papa) a photo book. He loved it and I decided to make it a tradition. This year his book was a little late because I wanted to include pics from Momo’s high school graduation. I gave him his book recently and he LOVED it. He even got a little misty! I am a planner. I make lists. The lists are everywhere. My lists have lists. But things don’t always work out. This was a funky week. Seemed that something was just off with quite a few of those closest to me. And then I fell. Slipped in my bathroom. I always wear my non slip Crocs. But I took them off to clean the shower. Stepped out onto the bathroom floor, did a funky split, twisted my knee and bam. Yes, my right knee. The one I just had surgery on. And I wasn’t wearing my life alert pendant. I kid. I felt fine until a couple hours later. Stupid crippled body ruined all my weekend plans.
In other news….have lots of little projects brewing. Stay tuned.

So…Kristie asked about how did I get the colors the way I did. I used Wilton icing colors. No top secret ingredients I promise! Christina baked the cakes.
A big one for the bottom and a little one for the top. Then I whipped up a huge amount of icing, using the standard Wilton icing recipe. 
Then I tinted all the colors. 
Here’s what the purple looked like before: 
And here it is after: 
I put a crumb coat on the cake. Just a layer of vanilla icing to catch all the crumbs and to help the colored icing stick to the cake. 
Then I drew out the waterfall. 
Then I filled in my outline with the blue icing. I covered the rest with the green. 
Then I decorated the rest. Color by color works easiest for me. 
It was so fun! And now I’m going to make some cakes for a couple friends of mine for their kids’ birthdays. Fun! -
So remember when I decorated that Dora cake a couple weeks ago? Well, the little girl’s birthday party was Saturday so I did her a new cake. And this one was MUCH better!

I actually don’t feel that old in my head. Except I don’t remember things as well as I used to. But inside I really don’t feel any older than like 25.
So…Saturday I did something kind of different. I had my hair done as usual, but then I had my hair girl put a magenta highlight in my hair. I love it! I think it’s beautiful. I have always wanted to try something like this but I always worked in an office. Not now. Woohoo! CSP calls me Stripe. You’ll have to wait for a good picture. I had to wear a headband on Sunday to appease the conservative CSP. But I did take this pic on the way home from my hair girl’s house.
My Mom & I get our hair done together and she brought my presents to me. Such cute stuff! She gave me a yummy smelling candle, the CUTEST elephant tea pot,
an adorable lady bug purse hook 
, and some fab 
rococco stationary
.Sunday CSP & I went to lunch with his parents at Flying Biscuit. Then we went to have dessert at Dean & Deluca.
They gave me my presents there- some fun outdoorsie plates & a cute lime green wallet, plus a couple of gift cards- one to Starbucks & one to Kohl’s.So, what did CSP give me? He let me get the zoom lens & flash I wanted for my camera! Woohoo! So after lunch we went to see The Dark Knight. So good. Then we went to dinner at The Melting Pot.
YUM. But the celebration does not end there! This weekend is the annual birthday game night! -
Today I am 35 years old. Yikes. -
LOTS going on this month. Lots of birthdays! Including mine. I loooove my birthday, but I’m not so thrilled about this one. 35. UGH. -
So you know how I sell custom painted growth charts on Etsy right? Well I got an order from a girl in Denver for a present for her nephew. She wanted it to include snowboarding, snow skiing, tennis, and Brazillian soccer. Her BIL is from Brazil. It took a while to come up with a way to incorporate all that, and even longer to paint it, but I think it came out ok! I emailed her the pictures and she loved it. She’ll be getting it tomorrow!
