Gifts of the season

I thought I’d share some of my favorite gifts I received for Christmas.  We are so blessed to have so many wonderful people in our lives who know and love us so well.  The BEST part about Christmas was laughing so hard and having such a good time that I forgot to take as many pictures as I usually do.

I brought home some fabulous gifts as well.  Don’t worry, I’m not going to do a play by play of every single gift received, but I am going to highlight the favorites of Christmas 08.My in-laws gave me this really cool tea set with flowering teas. 119192508018890There’s a tea pot, four tea cups, and lots of flowering jasmine tea.  It smells so good and tastes wonderful.  Plus,  it is really pretty to look at!  They also gave me this gorgeous apothecary jar. 142747lg I love it so much and can’t wait to put things in it!  It’s bigger than it looks in the picture.  About 10 inches in diameter.  So pretty!

Marsha & Larry (aunt & uncle) know I’m a stationary junkie and they totally fed my addiction.  They gave me 3 boxes of beautiful note cards.  I can’t find a picture of one of the sets but it’s luxe purple paper with a dark velvet rococo pattern on it.  They also gave me these kate spade notecards selllargetc3602and these from Crane & Co. alt1rc3640
All so lovely. And that’s the problem! They are all so nice I don’t dare write on them unless I have something monumental to say!  Marsha & Larry also gave me a gift certificate to Amazon.  I was so excited because I knew just what I would get with it!  I ordered Cranium WOW1010150001affe56_a400 and this fab label maker 41mgjqzxasl_ss500_. You know I love a good game. Well we’ve been playing off my old original Cranium game for years. Even with a booster box of questions it’s gotten to the point that we know all the answers.  When I read about Cranium WOW I knew I had to have it.  I can’t wait for the next game night!  And the label maker?  Well 2009 is the year of organizing my house and my life.  Starting with setting up a proper filing cabinet for all our papers and what not.  I can’t wait to label everything!

Papa & Gigi gave me this very cool charging valet. Now this isn’t the exact one. I don’t know where she got it so I can’t link to it. But it looks a lot like this one. 004-500phCSP & I have lots of gadgets between us and we’re tired of all the cords and cables on the counter. Now we won’t have to look at them! I feel so elegant and adult!

Ok, now on to the gift that made me squeeeeaaal outloud like a little kid when I saw it.  Papa & Gigi TOTALLY surprised us with this one.  They got one for Marc & Sara too.  They were equally thrilled!  What it is is a projector that you plug into your dvd player or video game console and it projects the image on to the wall or ceiling up to 90 inches (diagonally)!!!  BIG WII FOR ME!!!  I have never been a girl who cared about the size of her tv.  Until we got the Wii.  There are lots of games that split the screen and our tv, while fine for watching prime time shows, just isn’t big enough to get a really good look at what you’re doing when you’re playing the Wii.  CSP has long been coveting the supah dupah large flat screen lcd whatever whatever tvs but they just aren’t in our budget right now or in the foreseeable (sp) future.  But this projector solves all our problems!  9588816010570pHow cool is it gonna be to take it up to our bedroom (it’s small and totally portable) and project movies on to our vaulted ceiling while we lay in bed watching??  Like a drive in in my house!  Or have everyone lay on the living room floor at Marc & Sara’s and shoot the movies up on their big blank wall?  Fun for sleepovers! And for the Wii?  OMG.  I’m gonna rig something up like a screen or go ghetto with a sheet on the wall and play life sized Wii!  Woot!
