~Klean Kanteen stainless steel water bottles sold with Built NY insulated sleeves. Cause apparently my reusable plastic water bottles are killing me by leaching chemicals into my water. It makes me sad cause I’ve been carrying Tupperware water bottles for years (and I have no firm info that Tupperware specifically is leachy, but I live with Cap’n Safety Pants), but I’m consoled by the handy snapping handle on the insulated sleeve of my new bottle. And the kicky stripes don’t hurt either.

~Baggu Bags. They come in great colors and fold up into little pouches that fit in your purse. I get funny looks at the store, but I don’t care. I’m saving the Earth 1 bag at a time. You’re welcome Earth.

~Jon’s coffee maker broke and I had to order a new one. I plugged “pug” into the Amazon search bar while I was there just to see what was out there. This little guy came up. He won’t save the Earth, probably just plunder it looking for snacks, but he sure is cute! I’m glad I went ahead and got him cause now he’s sold out. I’m not normally a figurine kind of gal, and my home isn’t full of pug memorabilia, but come on, he’s a pug AND a pirate. There was nothing I could do.

Mardi Gras

Last night I went to a Mardi Gras party with my friend Kim. It was put on by The Mommies Network. I know I’m not a mom yet (and I promise to post an adoption update this week), but my sister encouraged me to join as they have an adoption forum. I’ve met some great people through TMN. Kim & I got together in the afternoon (she lives up the street from me) and we made our masks. Then we headed out to the party last night. I was able to meet some more members and visit with some I’ve already met. So that was fun. I was shocked however, by the behavior of some of the moms there. It was a “get to know you” event and they (loudly) talked about really inappropriate things. Like 3somes, anal sex, and they used really foul language. It was just really disappointing. I’ll still do things within TMN, but just not things that those girls are involved in.

After the party I dropped Kim off and went in for a little while. She has a wii. Her and her 16 yr old son taught me how to play. So fun! I want one!

Today I went to the grocery store and picked up ingredients for fun football food (Texi Mexi cups & this great dip I make). CSP came home from work and we watched most of the Super Bowl. He’s already in bed. No idea who won. But I recorded it so we can at least watch the commercials!

It’s Photo Bloggy Days time again!

Here’s the dealio:Take a picture at least once every 2 hours. Photograph everything: your breakfast, the inside of your shower, your view when you wake up, what you see on your commute to work, your desk, your lunch, you get the idea! Things you think are every day and mundane to you are interesting to us!

Post your photos of Friday &/or Saturday 2/8 & 2/9. You can do both days to show the difference between work & play, or just the one day. I wanted to include a business & non-business day for variety. For those of us who don’t work outside the home, don’t fret- there’s tons of stuff for you to photograph!

Take pics of your day then post them later. Like you can take pics all day Friday then post them on Saturday or Friday night. Take your Saturday pics then post them Sunday or Saturday night or Monday even. No need to continually post throughout the day. Although you can do that too if you’d like. It’s totally laid back about when you post. Just make sure your photos are of Friday and/or Saturday. The main goal is to be able to go to different blogs and see what our bloggy friends were doing at the exact same time. Like I wonder what Lisa in Baltimore was doing while I was having lunch in Charlotte. That kind of thing.

Carry your camera with you all day. Start now to get into the habit. Go to sleep with your camera by your side!

The circus is in town

The circus is here. And it just breaks my heart. I certainly won’t be going and won’t be taking my nephews or giving the circus money. I refuse to fund animal cruelty. Things I’m over:
- What happens in ______ stays in ______. If I never hear this saying again it will be too soon. It is soooo over played.
- Live, Love, Laugh. It’s on EVERYTHING.
- Vera Bradley bags and knockoffs. Don’t get me wrong, I like some of the prints. I really like the elephants. But I would never buy one. One reason: these bags are EVERYWHERE! September 2006 Shannon & I were sitting on a bench at some outlet stores and in only about 20 minutes we counted over 50 of these bags walking by attached to people. And the since then they have gotten even more ubiquitous. They very well may be a plot by the government to seize control of our brains! Resist!
- The election. And it’s only January.

Catching up

I have so much to tell y’all. I have this “to blog about” draft with a long list, but other things keep happening and I just don’t have time to get to it all!

My camera & I have been v.v. busy the last few days. First, on Thursday I went to visit with Shannon & Emily. I haven’t seen them since the night they came home. I can’t believe they’ve been home a month! Let me tell you something. Emily is such a little doll! SO cute! And she likes me back, so that’s good. I was there when Mustachio came home from work and I was able to witness one of the sweetest things ever. He came in and swooped Emily up and covered her with kisses and gave big hugs and was just going on and on about how much he loves her and missed her. I whispered to Shannon how sweet Mustachio was being and she said he does that every night when he gets home. How sweet is that?!? Click here for more pictures from my visit.

Friday night CSP & I went over to Marc & Sara’s for dinner & playing with the kids. These boys are just too cute. Look at JoJo dressed up like a present: Jake pulled out the old six string:
Then Saturday night we headed out to Jon’s parents’ house to celebrate his dad’s 60th birthday. Marsha & Larry (our favorite honorary aunt & uncle) were there. We had a great time and chatted and played cards til way late. We didn’t get home til after 1am!

Perks & Pesky Pug Pups

First I want to say thank you so much for all of your support with my shop! So exciting! And don’t forget to scroll down and enter the contest for free earrings (But you have to go visit my shop first!).

CSP was able to pick a gift from a catalog to reward him for good performance or something like that. We chose a surround sound system with dvd player & iPod dock. Very cool. So CSP was down on the floor hooking it all up. Well, Miss Molly wasn’t too thrilled with that. See, she needs to be attached to CSP AT ALL TIMES. She would prefer it if he would carry her in a Baby Bjorn. I looked over and saw this: Then Kiki had to get in on the action: I swear, not a day goes by that these girls don’t just crack us up!
