I receive the Photojojo newsletter in my email and the just talked about the coolest thing! They now make SD memory cards for your camera that upload your pics for you- straight from your camera via wifi! Amazing! It’s called Eye Fi. Your pictures go to a photo sharing site like Flickr. Eye Fi is not the cheapest thing but you’re paying for convenience and magic! The more you pay the more features and memory you get. Think about all the cool events this would be great for! Births, birthdays, parties, graduations, trips etc. If some family and friends can’t be there but you’re near wifi, then your fam & friends can watch it unfold as it happens via the photos you upload! It’s like they’re there in real time! Amazing! The photography nut/techno geek in me is drooling!

Oh Bee Ex
I’ve just returned from my first trip to North Carolina’s Outer Banks, or OBX as you’ll see when you visit. OBX can be found on tshirts, stickers, can coozies. Each July my family spends a week together either at the mountain house or some other location, usually a beach. This time we chose the Outer Banks as most of us had never visited. I was so excited! I have read Jenny’s yearly trip reports of her visits to OBX (she drives all the way from northern NY!!) and have picked up lots of tips. I was especially excited to see some of the wild ponies! Contrary to popular belief, there is WAY more to do in Vegas beyond gambling, boozing, hookers, & getting whacked by the mob.
**Warning- lots of photos after the jump**
In case you missed it…
Buried at the bottom of my trip report on the last visit to Valle Crucis was a bunch of pictures we took on the last night. Papa, Gigi, Sara & Momo lined up on the porch with their glow sticks. Jake & Joey provided sideline art with their glow sticks. I stood in the lawn & set my shutter speed to slooow. I timed it out and gave them a 3 count beat. I’d say “Ready, go. 1,2,3.” During the 3 count they would draw their letters. We had to practice a bit but then we all got really good at it. I’m very pleased with the results! We took a bunch of glow stick pictures and we also played with sparklers.
I know it’s a little tooting of my own horn kind of thing but they are just so fun! Click here to see all the shots.
Members Only
After I uploaded my recent Valle Crucis pictures to flickr I looked for a Valle Crucis flickr group. There wasn’t one so I started one. We’re already up to 11 members. I love looking at my favorite spot through other peoples’ eyes. If you’ve ever visited VC & have pics, please join our group and post your photos!

Bloomed!
Zoe- pug supa star!
Momo & I took Zoe to the nursing home to visit Gmommy. Zoe ran up to the door and got all excited. As we neared the door we saw why: Of all the days I bring my tiny pug they have some huge dog there! He was eyeing Zoe like she was a snack. Luckily he was really sweet and after introductions they basically ignored each other.
Gmommy LOVED Zoe. And Zoe loves everyone so that worked out well.
Zoe was on her best behavior. She really wanted to run around and explore, but in an Alzheimer’s unit I didn’t think that would be such a good idea so Momo held on to her.
My sweet girl.
I can’t wait to take her back.
