Public weeping and stealth food sneaking

Tonight Christina and I went to see Nights in Rodanthe.  She asked me about it yesterday and I had NO idea what she was talking about.  I’d seen the previews but I guess the name never stuck.  Probably because of the RODANTHE.  What does that even mean?  She’d read the book so was all excited about seeing it.  I’m all about a movie filmed and based in the Carolinas.  We went through the drive through at Chik fil A first and I unzipped my expandable bag to accommodate our dinner.  Snuck chicken fingers and fries right in!

OMG what a tear jerker!  It was sooooo romantic.  I won’t tell you anything to give any of it away, but my eyes are all post cry puffy and burny now.  And it seemed like we were the only ones sobbing too.  I don’t know how.  I went through a whole stack of napkins.  I feel like I need to go weep in my bathtub now.

It was funny too because the film has James Franco in it along with Richard Gere.  And James Franco is closer to my age.  But I’ve rounded that corner where older men are just more attractive to me know.  And the younger guys just look like infants.

  1. Oh my Gosh, I made my friend go see it with me last night. We knew nothing about it except that it was filmed somewhere in the Carolinas(my friend is from NC) and that had it had Richard Gere and Diane Lane(who we both love). I figured out about 3/4 of the way through what was going on, but was afraid to tell my friend. She was completely blindsided and we were both sobbing my the end. People were actually laughing at us, we were crying so hard! I kept apologizing to her, saying “I didn’t know it ended like that”! It was so sad! Sob!

  3. I’ve never even heard of this movie.

And YOU’RE one of those annoying people who sneak food into the theater and I have to listen to you crinkling your fast food wrappers and smell the fast food??! Shanny! You should be ashamed!

  4. I saw this last weekend. I had read the book years ago and was excited to see it. Although I saw the previews and pictured some of teh scenes in the book, it didn’t hit me until I was in the theater that I couldn’t remember how it ended. ha. I thought they did a really great job on it.
