My December birchbox came! This month I received under eye gel packs to get rid of puffy eyes, men’s cologne, mascara, face cream, and shampoo. Now that I’m approaching 40 I have puffy eyes if I don’t get enough sleep so those gel packs will come in handy! The shampoo and face cream are perfect travel size. And I can always use mascara!

I was checking my Facebook messages when I noticed something in my inbox. Up in the left hand corner it said Inbox 82 then next to it Other 99+. I had never paid attention to the Other so I clicked on it. Mainly it was filled with messages from people who I wasn’t Facebook friends with when they wrote me. I felt badly because there were notes there from some people I should have replied to ages ago, but I never knew the note was there.
Then there were the come ons. I have uncovered 3 come on messages so far. Who knew my profile pic was so appealing to middle aged men?? One guy from Miami, one from the UK. But my favorite message is from an Army Captain:
Hi you are looking sweet and love the way you smile baby, i will like to know you more and better… sorry are you single?.. Am a single dad of two kids need s good woman to spend the rest of my life with… hope to read from you soon…
Thanks Captain Scott….I told CSP about the messages and especially Captain Scott’s. (I wonder if he’d make me call him Cap’n all the time?? Dinner’s ready Cap’n!) Anyway, CSP said “See, if I kick off early you’ll be just fine. Just go hook up with Captain Scott!” I gotta keep my CSP healthy so I don’t end up some Facebook mail order bride!

I hadn’t updated my 100+ Things page in a while so I sat down to do that and realized that a few things have changed over the past 3 or so years since I’d updated.
#26- I used to only have 2 tattoos. Now I have 5: a sun/moon on my lower back, 3 ladybugs & a dragonfly on my right foot, the Hebrew word for three on my right foot, the initials of my sisters, my mom, and my initial on the inside of my left wrist, and 3 stars behind my left ear.
#29- I’d always wanted a nose ring. Now I have one.
#43- I’m up to 10 cruises now. 11 come February.
#50- I’d wanted to go back to Las Vegas where we honeymooned. We took a trip back there for my birthday in 2009.
Also we’ve moved to be closer to CSP’s work, we finished our adoption work, and I’m less than 8 months away from turning 40!

We are all finished with our adoption work! No more paperwork. No more deadlines. No more inspections and scrutiny. No more digging for records. WHEW. We’ve been working on this for so long I almost don’t know what to do with myself now! Well, yes I do. That would be prepare for the arrival of the kidlets!!! We’re asking for 2 girls ages 0-8. We are so excited! We’re hoping to have them home by summer. All depends on how many children are available. We could be parents in a month or a year. It’s finally feeling so real! We’ve been “that couple who’s adopting” for SO long, and soon we’ll be “that couple who adopted those beautiful children”. Squeeee!!!

I’ve got itchy feet. By that I mean it’s usually not too long before I’m itching to travel somewhere or move houses or just get out and explore. I’m really thankful for that. I know people who have NEVER been on a vacation! Ever! I just can’t imagine that! I mean, I know that it’s a privilege to be able to take nice vacations but there are places in your own state that you can explore without much money. I just can’t imagine living in this big, beautiful world and not wanting to see at least a piece of it. I have a whole long list of places I want to go someday. Now, to just win the lottery!

I’m thankful for my health. It isn’t the greatest- I have PCOS, Fibrocystic Breast Disease, Arthritis, and Severe Psoriasis. But I can still get around and do most of the things I like to do. I still have a pretty fantastic life. So for that I’m thankful.

I’m so thankful for my faith. I’m not one to preach or yell from the rooftops, but my faith does play a large part in my life. It’s what got me through my infertility troubles and health problems. Just knowing that God has a plan for me is great comfort.

I am thankful for where I live. It’s beautiful here. Granted it gets hot as fire during the summer but it’s worth it. We live right in the middle of the beach and the mountains. We can get to either in just a few hours. There are trees everywhere and we get to enjoy 4 seasons. We live in a small town on the edge of a big city so we get the benefits of both. I can’t imagine living anywhere else!

I’m thankful for the chilly weather. In the Carolinas the chill doesn’t last long so I really have to enjoy it while I can. I think I’m in the minority around here. Everyone else seems to really enjoy the summers but heat and I don’t mix well. So I’m really loving it right now! Blue skies and chilly temps!

I’ve never been so thankful for a piece of technology. But I seriously love my iPhone and can’t imagine life without it. From the turn by turn directions to texting to the weather app to the iPod feature- I use it all day, every day!
