  • Today we drove from Melbourne, Florida to the port of Miami. Yesterday we drove from home to pick up my father & his wife Mimi in SC, then on to the hotel in Melbourne (with an obligatory stop at Buc-ee’s of course). Melbourne to Miami should have taken 2.5 hours. It took 4 hours due to wrecks and horrific traffic on I95. We got to the port, parked, and went through the boarding process. At one point they had a group of us line up against a wall while a drug sniffing dog went down the row of us, sniffing us out to see if we were packing! I’ve never experienced that! The boarding process was smooth and efficient and in no time we were onboard the Carnival Horizon!

Once we got on board, CSP & I went to our room to drop off our carryon bags. We met Gede our room steward. SO nice!!! CSP immediately began the search for electrical outlets next to the bed for our CPAP machines. There were none. A quick tour of our room.

Nice large tv. Door behind it is to the bathroom.
The vanity& closet area. Only one small drawer in vanity area and half of it is taken up by small hairdryer that can’t be removed. 3 drawers and 2 shelves in closet. Plus a safe.
    CSP looking for outlets.
Bath with shower. Shower gel and shampoo are provided.
    Lots of shelves in bathroom.

So we went up to the Lido deck (deck 10) for lunch. We met up with my father and Mimi for a bit and ate from the buffet. It was super crowded and there were already people in their swimsuits walking around. And thongs! So many thongs! With no coverups! Nothing like lunch with a side of tushy.

Next we went to our muster station for a very quick muster drill. Then we headed down to Guest Services to stand in line for extension cords for our CPAP machines. There are 2 regular 120 volt outlets in our room and they are under the vanity light. It took 45 minutes in line because Diamond and Platinum cruisers are allowed to cut in line. Hmmm.

In front of Guest Services there’s a bar and lounge area with this cool funnel thing that has a video screen that wraps all around and changes designs based on what’s going on at the moment! Very cool!

Once we were finished at Guest Services we called home from the lounge there as we had no cell service in our room and up on deck was too loud. We checked in on our pups and family then went back to our room for a quick nap and to freshen up for dinner. That’s when we noticed my large suitcase was damaged (by the porters maybe? or maybe something caught on it? who knows?!?). I tried calling Guest Services but they were so busy I kept getting disconnected. So we took pictures of the damage to show them later.

Because of where the rip is and how the suitcase is made, when we opened it up it about split right in two!

Dinner tonight was in the Meridian restaurant. We met up with Mimi & my father at 7. You have to check in on your Carnival HUB app for dinner. Well, you and the rest of humanity who was all congregated at the entrance of the restaurant! And the entrance was right in front of the elevators. And there was nowhere to sit. Anyway, I checked us all in and the app said there was less than a 10 minute wait at 7 pm. Then every 10 minutes I would get a notification that there was still less than a 10 minute wait. It was odd. What if you don’t have a smartphone I wonder? Anyway, after over 30 minutes of waiting, my father bugged the host staff enough that they sat us and we had a great dinner. CSP had a steak and I had chicken parm. We were seated near the kitchen doors that would swing open and give us a peek of their escalator! The restaurant is on 2 decks/levels so the escalator makes it easier for waitstaff to go between levels. So smart!

We were exhausted after dinner (I drove all the way from NC to Miami, btw) so we went back to our room and crashed! Tomorrow is a Sea Day!

  • BBs we’re off to the Bahamas!!! The girls fly to Baha Mar in Nassau while we endure yet another shower scene with Zach (and no discernible soap) rubbing his oddly trimmed chest hairs. At the resort the next 1-1 is announced and Greer bursts into tears because it’s not with her. Then another girl starts crying and I’m pondering if I should be drinking wine while I watch this ridiculousness?!?

    Kat 1-1

Kat & Zach go out on a catamaran and dance ( I use that term loosely) and go snorkeling. There are all these cool sculptures under the water! I want to snorkel there! That night at Fake Dinner Kat tells Z all about her strained relationship with her mom, and that at one point it got so bad between them that Kat moved out of the family home for a bit. Kat gets the rose.

    Group Date

The group of gals and Zach head to the beach for a fish fry, limbo and games. Anastasia pulls Zach away for some one on one time and Kylee does not like it, so Kylee interrupts a few minutes later. The girls awkwardly go back and forth with each other, each not wanting to give in. Kylee says “I don’t want to fight you for it” (or something to that effect). Anastasia gives up and lets Kylee hang with Z, but while K & Z are chatting, Anastasia goes around to literally anyone who will listen and tells her that Kylee is trying to fight her and implies it would be a physical fight. I mean! Come on! Well this doesn’t sit well with Kylee so at the After Party that night, Kylee tells Z that Anastasia said she’s excited about all the Instagram followers she will get because of being in the top 14. Kylee says Charity heard Anastasia say it first hand. Z confirms this with Charity and the quote is “The 14 of us girls that are left will get at least 50 k followers”. Uh oh! Z pulls Anastasia and confronts her about it. Anastasia denies it but doesn’t look shocked that it happened. Then she backpedals a bit and says her words were twisted.

Meanwhile Jess took Rhiannah’s advice about shine bright like a diamond too literally as she is COVERED in body glitter yet again! Ariel gets the group date rose. Anastasia ends the night in tears.

    Brooklyn 1-1

Brooklyn and Zach ride ATVs all around the island, Brooklyn in TINY Daisy Dukes. Then they go have champagne at a secluded beach and go swimming and make out. That night at Fake Dinner, Brooklyn tells Zach about her ex and how he was emotionally and physically abusive, like her dad. That she was in a 6 year relationship with him and how hard it was to leave, but that she did finally get out. That one time the cops woke her up because she was knocked out cold by the ex! Oh my heart breaks for this young girl! She’s only 25! And to have gone through so much. Kudos to her for being so strong and kudos to ABC for not editing it out for more fun content. ABC even posted the Domestic Violence hotline number on the screen.

    Cocktail Party

Z comes in a asks to speak with Anastasia. They go talk and he sends her home. Meanwhile Kylee is freaking out about Anastasia going home because of her, but insisting Anastasia made her own bed. Not every girl gets time with Z, including Kylee. Kylee starts crying and freaking out over having to stand through a rose ceremony just to be sent home.

    Rose Ceremony

Kylee gets the last rose. Jess is again BLINDING me with her body glitter! I like to sparkle too but dang! Davia and Genevie (NOOOOOO!!!) go home.

Next week they are off to London and BBs, some BIG drama apparently happens because everyone, including Z is crying in the previews!!!

    Until next time BBs! 🌹xo

  • BBs, it’s week 3 and FINALLY a little drama for your llama!!! But first… We are subjected to yet another shower scene with Zach! We get it! He’s a clean boy! I don’t need to see all that …body, thank you v much. I mean, there’s even a foot shot!

    1-1 with Kaity

Zach takes Kaity to the Natural History Museum at night and they are the only people there. I admit, that would be a cool date. At Fake Dinner Kaity is crying over her previous relationship and how she just wants the basics like a good man who’s nice to her and how she’s never had anyone do anything romantic for her so this date is blowing her mind! Thank the production assistants Kaity, Z didn’t plan a bit of this! That’s pretty pitiful though, that she’s in her mid 20s and had yet to experience any romance! Z & Kaity put on animal themed pajamas and spend the night in a tent by the elephant exhibit. Nice! Kaity returns to the mansion in the morning past 7 am in her PJs and running on zero sleep and ALL the girls are talking about it! Hashtag jealous.

    Group Date

The ladies are taken to a football field to play full tackle football in the Bachelor Bowl 5! Two former NFL players train the girls first. The NFL guys were named but they mean nothing to me. Go sportsball! During the very first play, the kickoff y’all, Anastasia goes down and doesn’t get up for a while. Then Gabi gets tackled and pees herself a little. The winners of the game get to go to an after party while the losers go back to the house. The Ball Zachs, the blue team (natch), wins.

At the after party Christina keeps bringing up how she had the first one on one and how special her connection is with Zach and how she’s met his family and on and on and on. Brooklyn tells Christina to hush up about it. Bailey asks Zach for validation and he says he doesn’t think there’s a future for them. He sends Bailey home. The remaining girls are shook and Christina says “It’s inevitable” and is pretty cold about the whole thing, to everyone’s shock. Charity gets the group date rose and Zach leaves. As soon as Z is out of earshot, Christina says “OK I’m confused. Why wasn’t it me?” (to get the rose). Charity starts crying. Brooklyn tells Christina to shut the F up. Bravo!

    1-1 with Ally

Before her one on one date Ally receives a big, white box with a bridal ensemble (pantsuit) inside. She dons the suit and Z takes her to an airport where they board a small plane that they will soon be skydiving from! After they hurl themselves toward the Earth from a perfectly good plane, they relax in a hot tub for a bit. That night over Fake Dinner, Ally talks about her need to always feel in control. Z gives her the rose.

The next day Jesse informs the girls that there will not be a cocktail party, but instead there will be a pool party. During the party Brianna tells Z that Christina is making her uncomfortable and is making her and other girls cry. Brianna decides to leave.

Z addresses the ladies as a group and says there’s some people or someone in the house making people uncomfortable. He then chats one on one with Christina, Brooklyn, and Charity. When he’s speaking with Christina she keeps talking over him and he looks so exasperated! She starts to cry and plays the victim saying that this makes no sense to me. Then she goes and cries on the stairs in her cheeky bikini. It’s just plain pitiful!

    Rose Ceremony

The entire time Z is speaking, Christina is standing there making all these odd faces. Genevie is in an arm sling from football. Mercedes (who I didn’t even recognize as ever even being on this show when they show her in the lineup) gets the last rose. That means Christina is going home! Good. I mean, I know she would make some good tv but you also know she would make those poor girls miserable. I’m glad Z didn’t keep her for the drama!!!

Next week- the Bahamas! Until then BBs. 🌹 xo

  • BBs it is week 2 and that means it’s time for the dates to start! First we have a group date. Latto (a singer ) hosts the date, which is all about Bad Bitch Energy. Okay. There’s dancing and then Victoria, Tahzjuan, and Courtney (who??) from past seasons of the Bachelor arrive to judge the girls on their bad bitchiness. The girls have to bust through these doors and walk down a catwalk to Zach. Basically it’s a bunch of clothed strip teases. Then the ladies have to tell everyone about a time when they were a bad bitch. But we don’t get to hear an entire story, so who knows who’s really a bad bitch?!?

At the after party, Brianna is crying literal tears about wanting validation from Z. Which I get, but it’s just week 2, no need for tears yet! She and Z kiss. Tahzjuan appears and crashes the group date. She asks Z if she can join the group. He says he has to think about it. While he’s thinking, the other girls ask Tahz what she’s doing there. T says the other girls were “painful to watch today”. OMG so mean!! Z sits down with the ladies and tells them that T will NOT be joining them. Yay!!! Katherine gets the group date rose.

    1-1 with Christina

Christina and Z take a helicopter to his childhood home. There is a bbq going on for Z’s Mom’s birthday. Christina meets a ton of Z’s family. She’s v confident. That night over Fake Dinner Christina tells Z she has a 6 year old daughter named Blakely. Z starts getting emotional talking about speeding up the plan and becoming an instant father. But he gives her the rose.

    Group Date 2

For a second I thought I’d died of boredom or slipped into a coma and missed this group date activity! But no, there really isn’t one! It’s just Z & the girls chatting individually. Which is good for them, but yawn! The entire night Gabi is freaking out about why didn’t he kiss me? Jess gets the group date rose.

    Cocktail Party

Brianna is spiraling again, but this time it’s about Christina. Frankly I think Christina has a major unfair advantage since she’s “semi famous”. Anyway, Bri is upset that Christina was able to meet Z’s fam and that Christina told Bri on night one that she hated her, but JK. You gotta have much thicker skin than this to survive being on this show Bri!!! Bri sits down with Z and almost tattles on Christina but Z is not here for that! Then Z tells Bri she’s v strict and serious. Have some fun Bri!!!

    Rose Ceremony

Bri gets last rose. Going home: Cat, Victoria (who?), and Kimberly

Until next week my BBs!!! 🌹xo

  • BBs!!! It’s that time again! The Bachelor with Zach has premiered and I. Have. Thoughts!!! So settle in and let’s get to it! First of all, Zach is so boring. He’s the human equivalent of beige paint. I just can’t with him. BUT his girls, based on this episode, are promising some drama!

Before we can get to meet all of Z’s ladies, Sean Lowe comes to give advice. GROAN. Now, I love Sean. He’s a delight. But he doesn’t know Zach from Adam and WHY is it always Sean?? Are there no other Bachelor men who have had their Bachelor relationship succeed?? Sigh.

Anyway, time for the Limo Entrances! We have 30 women to meet! Some standouts:

Greer talks about herself in the 3rd person and that grates my nerves to NO END.

    Brooklyn is a rodeo racer!

Jess is only 23! Has she seen the show? Is she ready to marry this man?? I mean, I know Z is 26 but those 3 years are crucial!

    Cat’s extensions are showing.

Genevie is STUNNING and poised. My favorite so far.

    Mercedes brought a pig! LOVE!!!

Christina’s mom is a Mandrell sister! I looooved the Mandrells when I was a kid!

Two of the ladies are in the same dress (one pink, one purple).

Christina and Z are on a party bus hanging out when a bunch of the girls, led by Madison, crash their private bus party. Right after Christina and Z had their first kiss.

Speaking of kissing- these ladies got a good smooch: Kaity, Charity, Greer, and Jess (hope her mom’s not watching!).

One girl and Z have a “how many meatballs can you fit in your mouth at once” and while it’s kinda funny, it’s v gross and soooo not sexy!!!

SO. MANY. LIKES. It’s as if “like” is the only word these girls know! It makes them all look so dumb when you know they aren’t!!! Also, there are a million nurses on this show! Which tells me they are smart. So why speak in such a way that makes you look stupid???

Madison steals Z for a second hang out session, much to the chagrin of the other girls. Then she totally forces a kiss on him and he is not feeling it. Neither am I Z. Bless, she’s just coming off as desperate. She picks up on the fact that he’s not into her and spends the rest of the night crying.

Greer gets the First Impression Rose. Not to be confused with America’s First Impression Rose that Brianna won on After the Final Rose.

Later in the night Jesse and Z are chatting when Madison interrupts. She basically asks Z if he likes her and he v politely lets her down easy and sends her home. Then we have to watch for a PAINFULLY long time as Madison walks down the long driveway to the van that’s waiting to take her home. Her heels are clicking and she’s crying the whole way. BLESS.

CSP watched this with me and noted that all the girls look the same. With some exceptions, he’s right! SO many have the same hair it could be a wig they pass around! Long layers with extensions and a middle part. No wonder it’s hard to tell them apart and remember their names!!!

    Rose Ceremony

Christina gets the first rose and I realize I’m just not a fan. Cat get’s the final rose of the night and I’m really not a fan of her. Nine ladies go home: Holland, Sonia, Cara, Lekha, Olivia (who?), Olivia M, Becca, Vanessa, and Viktoria.

And that’s it for night one my BBs! Stick with me this season and we just might make it through! My favorite lady remains Genevie. Who’s your stand out at this point??

    Until next week!

    xo 🌹

  • This morning we woke up super early because we chose to do Express Debarkation. There are 2 ways to leave the ship. One is you go to breakfast then go pick up your luggage. The second is express debarkation where you take your own luggage and leave without having breakfast. We had the later seating for dinner which meant we wouldn’t be having breakfast until 9:15 am, so we chose to hop off the ship early and tote our own luggage instead.

Check out the cutest security dog ever!!!

His °o° Ears!!! His crossed legs!!! He’s holding his leash in his mouth! SO cute!!!

Everything went really smoothly and we were in our FILTHY car in no time! Hurricane Ian left my poor Hazel the Hyundai covered in dirt and debris! Poor girl! We went to Southern Charm Cafe for breakfast. It was delicious as always and we were on the road before we would have been seated at our scheduled breakfast on the Wish!

Just before leaving Florida, we stopped for gas & snacks at Buc-ee’s again. When we walked in I heard CSP exclaim from behind me “Buc-ee is here!”. Sure enough, the beaver himself was right there in the plush! CSP was so excited to get his picture with him!

We loaded up on road snacks, beverages, and even a hat for CSP before heading north again. When we got to Orangeburg we stopped and had an early dinner with my father & Mimi at Cracker Barrel. I swear, all these roadside stores with their tempting seasonal merchandise!!!

The drive home up I-95 wasn’t bad, though we did see some dirt and debris in some areas from Ian. We were just so thankful my car was still ok after sitting there all week! It could have been much worse and our hearts broke for those affected.

We had a wonderful week! So relaxing and so much fun! Especially with the 2 bonus cruise days thrown in! There’s no better way to ride out a hurricane than on a Disney ship! The Wish is an absolutely beautiful ship and we really loved our time on it!!!

In case you were wondering about our pups while we were cruising… they were at home being taken care of by Mom of CSP. She came and stayed the week at our house with the pups and spoiled them rotten- just as they should be!!!

Our babies were well taken care of!!!

It was so good to get back home and hug our pups but we can’t wait for our next cruise adventure!!!

  • Today is our last full day on the ship! Sad face!!! This morning we got up for an early breakfast at the buffet in Marceline Market.

They have a hand washing station as you walk in.

Today we ate in the cafe looking section up front. It’s v cute!

After breakfast I wasn’t feeling too well so I went back to the room for a lie down and CSP popped over to Castaway Cay to try and find some Stitch pins. He was successful and he also got some great shots of the ship while there!

He also saw another Lizard Man! Except this one had Jiminy Cricket instead!

I love all the free spirits you meet on a Disney cruise!

It was H-O-T HOT on Castaway Cay so when CSP got back we decided to just stay on the ship, explore, and enjoy the basically empty pools. I know- it’s a controversial decision but we’ll be back to CC soon!!!

These are the Neverland and Wonderland Cinemas. The last picture is the entrance to the Walt Disney Theatre. They show films in the cinemas and mostly live shows (but occasionally films) in the Walt Disney theatre. We knew we had limited time this cruise and with it being our first on the wish we didn’t want to commit 2 hours to a movie. But we do love being able to see the new releases at sea!

We went to Goofy’s pool for a while and found a shady spot to read. There are a bunch of smaller pools on the Wish instead of only a few larger ones and it’s really nice. We got hungry and went up to Deck 11 for some BBQ for lunch and sat by the helipad on Castaway Cay. The water is just beautiful here!

Back to Goofy’s pool for the remainder of the afternoon where we swam and read our books. CSP is reading a Daniel Silva book, The Kill Artist, or The English Assassin, I can’t remember which one. I read Natalie Barelli’s The Accident, which kept me glued to the pages! Finally it was time to go back to the cabin to pack and shower for our last dinner on the Wish (for now!).

Sunset from our verandah. While packing we decided to order room service one last time. I chose the cheese & fruit plate and CSP got some buffalo wings. The room service lady on the phone said it would be 30 – 40 minutes. So I decided to put off getting in the shower until after they left. But we were still in our wet swimsuits. I had just peeled mine off when (not 4 minutes after I’d hung up with room service) there was a knock at our door!!! I grabbed my suit and towel and CSP shoved me into the bathroom so he could answer the door!!! We were laughing so hard! FASTEST room service ever!!!

On the way to dinner we saw Rapunzel and Flynn Rider on the balcony in the Grand Hall!!!

Tonight’s last dinner was back in Arendelle.

CSP was v impressed with his Chilean Sea Bass!

Even though there wasn’t a show tonight, Elsa, Anna, and Kristoff came around to bid everyone a nice sleigh ride home!

We were able to snag a picture of our hard working server Pedro!

    Pedro, our server!

While I was filling out the guest survey, CSP ran around the ship for some last minute night shots.

The last pic above is the Goofy pool, where we spent a good portion of the day.

Our towel animal tonight was a stingray!!!

Goodnight! Tomorrow we disembark the Wish and battle the aftermath of Hurricane Ian to get home!!!

  • This morning we woke up early to beat the crowds at Marceline Market buffet for breakfast.

Cool wood wall on the way in and out of Marceline Market

Click on the pics to enlarge!

We saw Lizard Man again this morning! You know how on a cruise or at an amusement park you tend to run into the same people over and over? Well for us on this cruise it was Lizard Man and Mrs. Lizard Man! LM has a tiny plushie toy Pascal the chameleon (Rapunzel’s sidekick from Tangled) on his shoulder. And Pascal has QUITE the wardrobe! I’ve seen it sporting mini Minnie ears, and a top hat and today’s princess hat! I have so many questions for LM like “How does Pascal stay up there? Does Pascal have his own suitcase?” and many more! I just love this guy!!!

After breakfast we went back to our room to get ready for the day.

Then it was time for the Hyperspace Lounge!!! This is the Star Wars bar on the ship and I swear we walked past the unassuming entrance more than once before I realized what it was!

Before our cruise you had to have reservations to get in to the Hyperspace Lounge. On our sailing we were limited to 45 minutes in the lounge as it’s small with limited seating.
The light up box on the left is where you wave your hand to open the door.
The screen behind the bar changes scenes periodically. You go into “hyperdrive” (complete with sound effects) then boom you’re in a new galaxy!
Quick tour of the Hyperspace Lounge

We ordered drinks. I ordered the Mustafar Berken’s Flow and CSP ordered the Tatooine Freetown Reserve. The server said it would taste like an Old Fashioned but a bit sweeter.

    There’s a $200 drink and a $5000 (!!!) drink!!! Way out of our budget!!!

The server brought our drinks out to much fanfare! She finished making CSP’s drink at our table.

She put smoke filled bubbles on the surface of both of the drinks! I loved the smoke bubbles! We noticed a bartender creating them and floating them in the air.

We both enjoyed our cocktails very much! CSP’s even had a blue striped spherical ice cube- v cool!!!

I don’t drink very often at all so when we were finished we went up to Decl 11 to get some food on my belly!

Then we visited Joyful Sweets – the sweets shoppe themed after the movie Inside Out! It’s SO cute!!!

They sell gelato and macarons and these chocolate spheres and themed cupcakes! There’s also a section with prepackaged sweets including flavored popcorn and candies. I chose a couple of macarons and CSP picked a Hocus Pocus cupcake. We dropped the sweets off back at our room to enjoy later.

On the way back to our room we ran into Tiana! I WISH I’d had my phone out because she was gone in a flash, but I love that you can encounter characters all over the ship! We got some drink refills on Deck 11 then went to the Luna lounge for a new game show called Villains Game Night. We’d gotten there early (look at us learning!) and we (along with all the other early birds) promptly got kicked out and told to come back in 20 minutes because they needed to set up for the show. There went our front row seats!

Meanwhile, Captain Andy announced that we’d be passing by Castaway Cay in a few and the Fantasy was there. It’s extremely rare to spot another Disney ship at sea while you’re on a Disney ship since there are only 5! CSP got v excited because this 2 ships passing thing meant a horn battle would ensue! The Fantasy was leaving CC so while I waited in line to snag us some seats for the game show, CSP ran up to deck 12 to get a good spot to see the Fantasy.

The let me back into Luna

and I found seats next to this sweet couple who were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary! We chatted while we waited for the show to start. We were told to put our phones away because no photography was allowed for this show since it’s new. But I did manage to snag this pic:

You can JUST make out Villain’s Game Night on the curtain

Of course as soon as I put my phone away Chip & Dale came through the lounge in their Halloween costumes looking so cute! But you’ll just have to take my word for it! Ha! Then I noticed some commotion out in the hall behind me (I was seated in front of a window). It was Goofy in his Egyptian get up!

    He did a little dance.

The show began with no sign of CSP! It was a cute show- think Hollywood Squares but with Disney Villains! Finally CSP joined me all hot and sweaty from being all the way up on Deck 12 in the sun watching the horn battle with the Fantasy. He got some good pictures of the ship and in the video (it’s about 5 minutes long, you’ve been warned) you can hear the horns. Disney ship horns are different. They don’t honk, they play tunes! It’s awesome!!!

Skip to 2:13 for the horn battle!

We went back to our room to change into our swim suits. We’d decided that we didn’t want to go to dinner at the Marvel restaurant again tonight since we weren’t crazy about it the first night and we’d just wing dinner.

A room near ours with amazing decorations!

We went up to the Quiet Cove adults only area and got in this little bench thingy. The water is about a foot deep and you sit on this tile bench (it’s comfy I promise) while water cascades down the bench and into the little pool at your feet. It was really nice.

The water bench thing. There’s one on each side of the adult pool.

More of the Quiet Cove area ^^^. We read and I found these awesome oversized, padded rockers that were SO comfy cozy!!!

CSP decided he wanted to try the AquaMouse while everyone was at dinner so I parked myself under one of the final stretches and had my phone at the ready to shoot a video.

    CSP really liked this clock!

He went twice and pro tip- it’s really hard to see people at night when they are flying past you on a water raft!!! I took 11 videos of strangers to finally get this one of CSP!!!

CSP (I think!) on the AquaMouse!

We went back to the room and ordered room service for dinner then went to bed! Our towel animal tonight:

    A towel bear! So cute!!!

CSP noticed the “pattern” we were sailing in trying to avoid Hurricane Ian. Basically we just drove in circles in the Caribbean and the Atlantic Ocean!

    Our voyage thus far.

Goodnight! Tomorrow is Castaway Cay day!!!

  • Today is a sea day. We woke up early and at 8am went to breakfast at 1923. 1923 is the year the Walt Disney Company was founded. On the way to breakfast we passed the luxury shops and the Bayou- a lounge. Early mornings is a great time to snap pics of the ship!

    Luxury shops on the left.
I love this painting of the Wish!
    The Bayou
    Mimosa station at the Bayou
The Pumpkin Tree in the Grand Hall
The bronze statue of Cinderella in the Grand Hall
    Lucifer, Jaq, & Gus Gus
We ate on the Roy Disney side
We had a great table by a window
    Storm’s a coming!

After breakfast I went back to the room to get ready for the day and connect with people back home. CSP explored the ship. On the way back to the room we saw Tiana waiting to meet people.

We passed back by the Bayou and noticed they now had a Bloody Mary station.
Loved this decorated door just a few down from ours!
The ship’s horns are in the Classic °o° shape!

It was another rainy day. CSP came back to the room to pick me up and we went to lunch back at 1923.

Memorabilia from Alice in Wonderland in 1923

We had sailed directly into a thunderstorm. It was WILD to be on a cruise ship and hear thunder and see lightning! We could barely see the ocean through the windows of the restaurant!

Service at lunch was slow and disjointed. So slow that we missed the sports trivia activity we had planned on going to after. Five different people waited on us at lunch. It was odd. Normally you have a service team of two.

Hidden Mickeys we found after lunch!
    This painting comes alive!
I love how the lights in the hallways on our deck threw sparkly shadows!

After lunch we went to Mickey’s Mainsail gift shop again looking for Stitch pins. No luck. So we went up to the beverage station for drinks and also got some ice cream. We went back to the room to read and watch a movie. I was still looking on the app for some fun activities for us to do. We went to bingo but it was so packed an hour out that there was no room for us. Off to Keg & Compass so CSP could get a Guinness but people were spilling out of the small bar. With the rain everyone was inside so it was super crowded everywhere we went. So…. back to the room to read while CSP napped.

    Beautiful mosaic

A little later we went to meet Daisy Duck. You have to stand in line to meet the characters.

Chip & Dale greeting people in the Grand Hall

Pluto was there before Daisy and every time he signed an autograph we cracked up! He’d hold the item he was autographing on his nose (!!!) and sign it that way. SO funny!

    Pluto signing an autograph

Meeting Daisy was fun! And lest you think we were the only adults in that line, think again! Many, many adults line up to meet the characters. Something about being on that ship makes you a kid again!

It was time for the show so we ran up to the beverage station to refill our drinks. Tonight’s show was Aladdin.

It was REALLY good. They’d updated the Genie’s jokes. There was even a Pete Davidson joke! It didn’t go over too well but I got it! CSP isn’t normally a fan of musicals but he LOVED it!

We had to make a quick stop this evening back at Nassau for a medical emergency.

Back in our room we got ready for our first dinner in 1923.

    Art Deco reigns in 1923
Our Navigator app updated to show our extra days.
    Cinderella’s glass slipper
    Towel lobster!

Time for bed! Tomorrow is another sea day!

  • Today is Castaway Cay day!!! Castaway Cay is Disney’s private island in the Bahamas. It’s a beautiful wonderland! Unfortunately, shortly after waking up, we learned that we could not dock at Castaway Cay today because of the weather and the wind speed (from Hurricane Ian).

You can see how cloudy is was today.

It rained off and on all day. We were super impressed with the giant screen – Funnel Vision. SO clear!!!

So we went up to Marceline’s Market (the buffet) for breakfast. While I was walking around gathering my breakfast I saw a man who was crouched down with his hands on his son’s shoulders. The son looked to be about 6. The man was SCREAMING in his face- “You listen to me! You calm down! CALM DOWN!!!” Yeah, that’s going to make him calm down- you all red faced screaming inches from his face!!! UGH.

Random thing I noticed today- the ship smells amazing! Disney must be pumping in scent because it smells good all the time!!!

We went back to the room to buy internet for the day and make some phone calls to update people at home about our cruise being extended. We had a hotel reservation in Florida for Friday night that I had to cancel since we’ll still be on the ship. I took lots of pictures of our room. I posted a video the other day but here’s pictures. Then we got ready for our day.

Lots of storage! And there’s a great (very powerful) hair dryer in your room.
Plenty of room under the bed for your suitcases!
I sleep SO well on a cruise!!!
The walls are metal so we bring magnetic hooks for extra storage!
    Lots of closet space!
    I love the split bathrooms!
    So much storage space!
The other bathroom (the one with the toilet). Lots of shelves here too.
Lots of people decorate their doors with magnets! Helps to find your room!
There’s a safe in each room too!

For lunch today we went casual and grabbed something to eat on Deck 11. I went to Donald’s Cantina and got a burrito bowl. CSP got brisket from the BBQ station. Pro Tip: the Disney ships have beverage stations (most of the time on the pool deck or deck 11). You have to use a disposable cup that they offer but the cups are TINY. So we bring reusable cups with us and fill them up at the drink station (using the paper cups to fill for sanitation’s sake). That way we can tote our drinks all around the ship and not run out so quickly! CSP uses a Swig cup and I used my new Stanley cup on this cruise. LOVE the handle!

    Stan, my reusable cup

After lunch we went up to Deck 12 & Wheezy’s Freezies for a Dole Whip. SO good! We took my Dole Whip back to our room and read our books and relaxed on the verandah. We got some snacky snacks from room service (room service on Disney ships is free and fast! Tip your servers!). Then we showered and got ready for dinner. We found out that we aren’t docking back in Port Canaveral until Sunday!!! Wooot!!! The ship is really rocking due to the hurricane.

On the way to dinner we passed by the Grand Atrium and CSP took a quick video.

Dinner tonight is back in Arendelle and it’s Pirate Night!!! We joked that the hallway going to the Arendelle dining room is the longest one on the ship!

Tonight we have the pirate menu and no show from the Arendelle singers. After dinner we went up to Deck 13 to get a good spot for the fireworks!

You can see some people dressed up in their pirate gear!
I love that the Disney fireworks are made from fish food so they are good for the environment!

On our way back down in the elevator to get to our room to retire for the night, a man told us that DCL was gifting everyone with free internet for the rest of the cruise because of the delays. Yay!

I love all the towel/blanket animals!

Good night! Tomorrow is a sea day!!!
