I have fine, thin, highlighted hair and because of this have had a love/hate relationship with conditioner. I feel like I need conditioner to help repair the damage highlighting causes, but conditioner weighs my hair down. And I’ve always been taught to shampoo first then condition. So I was skeptical about reversing my routine. It just seemed like wouldn’t the shampoo wash away all the conditioner and leave me with dry, brittle hair? As soon as I got out of the shower and started going about my usual routine I noticed a difference. My hair wasn’t plastered to my head feeling all heavy. I used my thermal spray and mousse like normal. I blew it dry and it even dried faster. It’s so soft and silky feeling! And there’s a ton more volume and bounce- even on this high humidity day! The volume lasted all day and that is just awesome! I’m convinced and I’m switching it up- reversing my routine!

Essential Oil Make & Take Spa Party!
Saturday night I threw a fun Essential Oil Make & Take Spa Party! 8 of my friends came over to make bath and body products and learn about essential oils from my sister Sara. I put out some food. 
And some kick ass punch. I’m so mad I didn’t get a picture of it. But trust, it was awesome. Recipe: 2 bottles moscato wine, 2 bottles Sprite, 2 cans/tubes of frozen pink lemonade. Mix together, slice up a lemon or lime to float in the punch and serve. SO good. Everyone loved it. Thanks for the recipe Bonnie!
Sara arrived a half hour before everyone else to set up. She set up the table in such a cute way with trays with all our supplies we’d need. 
Here’s a close up of each place setting. 
We were able to take notes in the inside of each flier that she made. So cute! First Sara told us all about essential oils and what they are, how to use them etc. Then she passed around each of the eleven oils that come in the Premier Starter Kit from Young Living. 
We all smelled the oils and picked out our favorites (Stress Away!!!) Then we got to work. We made body wash, linen/room spray, and sugar scrub. Sara had made lip balms for all of us ahead of time. And at the party she made us whipped body butter. It was all so easy! And by the end of it we all smelled amazing! Check out the finished products!

My July Ipsy Glam Bag came today! Super cute bag filled with all new to me products!
The breakdown:
- Pur-lisse SPF 30 Sunscreen. Perfect for travel and it’s supposedly good for sensitive skin. Yay!
- Bare Minerals 5 in 1 BB Advanced Performance Cream Eyeshadow. The color is a dark taupeish color. It doesn’t say which shade it is on the teeny tiny bottle. A little dark for me for Summer but I’ll use it for sure in the Fall.
- Clear Clinic Vanished Clear Spot Treatment. It’s a tiny bottle of pimple treatment. Good for travel when my skin almost always acts up!
- Tints & Sass Fabulous Lip & Cheek Stain by Elizabeth Mott in Cherry. I’m a wee bit afraid of this as I have such fair skin. I don’t want to look like Raggedy Ann with big red cheeks. But I’ll try it!
- Models Own nail polish in Red Sea. It’s a reddish orangeish coral with holographic glitter floating around in there! Can’t wait to try it!

Ipsy Oopsie!
When my June Ipsy Glam Bag came I had a problem with 2 of the items. The Be A Bombshell mascara smelled SO bad and chemically that it was unusable. And the Jessie’s Girl liquid eye liner exploded all over me and my eye. So I sent Ipsy an email and got one back that they’d send me some replacement items. My replacement package came today!
Ipsy sent me 3 things to replace the 2! Nice! I got:

NYX Butter Gloss in Elclair. Pretty shade and everyone online raves about the butter gloss.
Marc Anthony (wonder if it’s the same Marc Anthony/ JLo’s ex?) Dream Waves Beach Spray. OMG! this stuff smells like summer in a bottle! Can’t wait to try it. Yes, even short haired girls can have beachy waves!
Be a Bombshell Lash Out Mascara in Black. Good looking brush in a full sized bottle. Only thing is it has an odd smell. Wonder if that will go away?
Jessie’s Girl Liquid Eyeliner in Black. I was especially excited to try this so I opened it to check out the applicator. Eye liner juice went EVERYWHERE. I cleaned it up and stored the eyeliner upright for a day. Went back to use it and it just poured out the applicator all over my eye and right into my eye! My eye white turned black! It was awful. So I won’t be able to use this. Sigh.
Over all though it was a good Glam Bag!
