Trip Report! Disney Magic Western Caribbean – Travel Day

Today we were off to a bit of a late start because CSP had the plague.  We finally got on the road about 10 am.  Around 4pm Mickey called to wish us a happy cruise!  So cute!  I’d totally forgotten that I’d set that up (it’s free!).  We pulled in to the Magic Kingdom gates about 7pm and I showed the lady my MagicBand.  She said “Oh, we have to get you to dinner!”  Amazing!  She directed us to our hotel and we checked in at Art of Animation.  IMG_6360

The lobby reminded us of Animator’s Palate on the classic cruise ships!  IMG_0564

Once we were checked in we drove over to our room.  The resort is HUGE with multiple buildings.  We had a Little Mermaid room.  IMG_6362  We only had about 20 minutes before we needed to leave for dinner so we freshened up and Face Timed with CSP’s mom who was staying at our house with the pugs.  She put each pug on the phone- it was too cute!  I took some pictures of the room.  Very well themed!

Check out our HUGE shower!  We could have had a party in there!!!DSC_0008DSC_0009

It was time for dinner!  Back in the car we went over to the Polynesian to have dinner at ‘Ohana.  We hadn’t been to ‘Ohana since Lisa & Pete’s rehearsal dinner back in 2008 so we were really excited!IMG_0566

Dinner was amazing. IMG_6366 It’s a fixed menu.  You get wings and potstickers first.  Then pasta and veggies.  Then your waiter comes around with giant skewers of grilled steak, pork, and shrimp.  I forgot to take pictures of all the savory parts of dinner because we were too busy eating it!  Plus, I’d just driven 9.5 hours and I was tired!  But then came dessert.  The BEST bread pudding in the whole world.  SO amazing.  With ice cream and a banana rum sauce.  IMG_6367

During dinner we were able to see the fireworks program Wishes right outside the window!  It was so neat!  They piped in the music for it.

After dinner we went back to the room and were asleep before our heads hit the pillows!

*Side note:  Driving in Florida is crazy.  Things we saw on this trip on the side of the road- a drug bust, 2 separate cars miles apart both covered in crime scene tape, a boat on a trailer with no car in sight, being attended to by 3 people in lawn chairs with a cooler.

Next up….boarding the Magic on Super Bowl Sunday!
