Ok, I’m going to admit something. Please don’t send me hate mail or call me Scrooge. But I hate those inflatable lawn decorations. HATE them. I mean, I guess kids like them or something, and I’m all for that, but I can’t stand them. I hate how during the day they just lay there in a lump on the lawn like a pile of multicolored trash. I think they are tacky. And every year some punk kids go and slash up someone’s inflatables. The story makes the news and everyone feels so sorry for Mr. Inflatable Owner. Now, I do not approve of any vandalism, but at least I know I’m not alone in my blow up hatred. heh.
I love everything else about Christmas. Seriously. I even love fruit cake. But please, when decorating for Christmas, or any holiday, don’t blow it.
I am so with you. The ones I hate the most are the ones that are suppposed to look like snow globes. I think everyone on our block has one.

Yep, I share your prejudice against them. My hubby and daughter, however, LOVE them. Thank goodness we have a teeeny tiny front yard, or my hubby would probably have bought out Costco and we’d have the whole collection. 😛

Marc wanted one this year! lol! I just wonder how much it costs to run one of those?

They can’t be cheap to run! The lights, the air pump. Plus one little cut and you’re done for!

Haha. We have a bunch of them. We used to have the Decoration wars in our old neighborhood. I always hated how they look during the day, like you said, like a lump on the log. Sara, ours only ran for a few hours a day, our electric bill was definitely higher but I wouldn’t say it was horrible. We are not putting them up this year. 🙂

I agree. One on a lawn I can handle, but when the homeowner has purchased every inflatable that they had in the store and sets it up on his lawn………..TACKY.

yeah, I don’t really like them either. I also dislike the lawns that seem to think they have to put out every single thing that lights up.

Hee! We’ve got ’em and the girls squeal and wave and say “hi frosty” “hi santa” when we drive up to the house. Yeah, I’ll do anything for that little squeal. Big unabashed sucker. 🙂 They also like the houses that have lights on every single thing in the yard, the more the better as far as they’re concerned, so, um, you know our yard is going to blind people next year… Heh.

I think we’re the only one on our block who have one. We got it five or six years ago. You know what’s worse than a blow up yard decoration? An old FADED yard decoration. Yet Santa and his train still show up every year.
