sunday we turned in the keys to the apartment and went to see monsters, inc. again for the outtakes. such a cute movie!

then we kinda just did errands…home depot etc. later our neighbors on the hill came over with a pie. they are such a nice couple and it turns out they used to live in our house!

so i forgot to blog about this weekend. friday night i got caught up on 2 episodes of satc. then we watched the opening ceremonies of the olympics. i swear bob costas was drunk.

saturday..we went to morgan’s basketball game. the most fun sporting event ever! then mom and hale and mo came by to see the house. jon and i did a little yard work them mom, hale, & mo showed up with a mirror for over the fireplace. so i ended up shopping for mirrors with them and jon worked. then i came home and helped him with the gutters. hale’s buying us a custom made mirror, it will be ready thursday.

sat night we went to mom’s for the best ribs i’ve ever had bar none. everyone was oohing and aahing and moanin and a groanin as we ate. so damn good. watched trading spaces and the olympics for a bit and came home. watching any sport with hale is so ridiculously fun.

ok- so excited because i’ve figured out this template thing a little and i can move things around and edit real nice like. go me!

we’re in the house!! so excited! we’ve had no access to the web or tv all week and the little radio we’re using only get’s 104.7 so we’ve been grooving out to 80’s rock.

we’ve been to home depot like every day. we have so many projects we want to do, it’s almost overwhelming. the house is looking better and better every day though. i just love it. it’s so cute. and it looks like we’ve lived there forever already. it just looks like us.

Cirque du Soleil – Shows – Quidam

jon’s parents are getting us tickets to quidam by cirque du soleil for our 1st anniv. i can’t wait to see it. i think it’s fitting since we saw their ‘o’ show on the honeymoon.

ordered jon some of this wing sauce today. we saw this place on the food network and husband got all excited. that ought to spice up our housewarming party!

we closed on the house yesterday! yay! we’re homeowners! let me tell ya…tuesday (the day before closing) had to have been the longest day of my life. and the most stressful!! the mortgage co. wouldn’t close until the termite treatment was complete. well that didn’t happen until we actually were in the closing! talk about taking it down to the wire. jeez…

but all’s well now. we had lunch with jon’s dad then ran some errands, loaded up my rav and took down all of our pictures and mirrors etc. mom and hale met us over there with champagne and we went with them and morgan to showmar’s. went home and just collapsed into bed. what a day! it sucked when we had to go to the apt to sleep though. we wanted to stay in the house.

moving on saturday! off work tomorrow through wednesday.

what a cool thing to come across an album/cd/tape that you just loooved, play it, and sure enough it still does it for ya!

packed all weekend. getting down to the wire. jon unearthed a crate filled with cassettes. i was looking through them and was delighted to find: madonna…like a prayer, kwame…a day in the life, inxs….kick, terrance trent d’arby…oh no! i can’t remember the name of that tape, but it has wishing well and if we all get to heaven etc. needless to say, i was psyched!! i listened to those all weekend while packing. still remembered the words too.
