  • BBs we are only on week 2 and by the end of this episode we’ll be down to just 9 women! Wild how fast this season is going!

We start out with the ladies complaining to Nicole about how she monopolized too much of Mel’s time last week. Nicole doesn’t seem too bothered though!

    Group Date

The ladies arrive to a theatre and comedian Jared Freid joins the group. We learn that the ladies are going to be roasting Mel. Jared helps the ladies with their jokes. Except for Carol, who didn’t bring her glasses so she can’t see. Like, seriously can not see- the woman is running into walls!!! Hilarious! Cheryl doesn’t know what a roast is so the ladies have to explain it to her. Once all the jokes are written, the ladies have to perform in front of a live audience! They do great! Some of the women are truly funny!

Nicole wins a private dinner with Mel because he thinks she did the best at the roast. Nicole asks Mel about his divorce and the end of his marriage. She gets the rose.

Debbie gets the one on one date this week. Mel takes her to a restaurant where Chef Ludo is cooking! He teaches Mel and Debbie how to make a proper omelette, then Chef Ludo makes them a beautiful dinner. Real food! Not Fake Dinner! Debbie explains to Mel how she has never been married. They seem to have a great time and she gets the rose.

Back at the mansion, Kathy and Susan from the first Golden Bachelor arrive and host a slumber party! They play Never Have I Ever, Cindy admits to Susan that she’s struggling with having to share Mel with the other women. Susan & Kathy give all the ladies vibrators but Peg can’t figure out what they are! Bless!

The next night is the cocktail party. Carol has the most awkward exchange with Mel. She’s so nervous! Poor thing! But she gathers up the courage and kisses him.

    Rose Ceremony

FOUR more ladies are leaving tonight! Cindy gets the first rose and Carol gets the last rose. Going home: Amy (thankfully- she gets on my nerves!), Monica B, Monica P, and Terri the puppet lady. Her puppet gives me the creeps so I’m thankful I don’t have to see that anymore!

BBs, we’re getting down to the nitty gritty already! Until next week! xo 🌹

  • BBs! It’s time for the Golden Bachelor again! You may have already heard about our new Golden Bachelor- Mel. He made an appearance on a podcast back in June where he said he would cut any contestant from the roster who was over the age of 60! The man is 66. Do with that what you will. He has since apologized and apologized many times during the episode tonight. Mel is a former LA Rams NFL football player. He’s now an attorney. He was born and raised in Detroit, but now lives in California.

    Limo entrances

There are 23 women vying for Mel’s attention this season. Cindy is the first woman out of the limo. Carol arrives wearing a Freddie Freeman jacket over her evening gown. Apparently, Carol is Freddie’s aunt and Freddie is a major league baseball player. She is the family manager. Peg is a retired bomb squad member. Cheryl arrives on a dirt bike. Sandra (from the first Golden Bachelor) introduces her twin, Andra. It’s a v diverse bunch and I love that! All of the women are stunningly beautiful!!!

Cheryl gets the first kiss. Gerri gets the first impression rose.

    Rose Ceremony

The first rose ceremony comes quickly in the episode, but at sunrise for the cast. Only 17 roses are given out! They are trimming the crowd down quickly!

The next day the women move into the mansion. There are two dates this week- a 1-1 and a group date.

Cheryl gets the first one on one date. She is told to go into the other room which is filled with gorgeous evening gowns, jewels, and accessories. The other ladies help Cheryl get ready for her date. Mel arrives to pick her up in a vintage car. He looks handsome in his tuxedo. They drive to the Queen Mary for Fake Dinner. Cheryl gets the rose and lots of kisses. There is a dramatic fireworks display.

    Group Date

The next day the ladies and Mel go to a football stadium (natch) where Jesse is waiting. Paula Abdul arrives, along with the LA Rams cheerleaders. The ladies are split up into two teams- blue and yellow. The cheerleaders teach the ladies dance routines. Later the ladies suit up into cheer costumes and perform their routines. These ladies are in amazing shape!!! I’m impressed! The blue team wins the contest and gets time with Mel at the after party while the yellow team heads back to the mansion.

At the after party, Cindy and Mel talk for a while and kiss. She gets the group date rose and says (to the camera) that she’s falling in love with Mel. GIRL. YOU JUST MET THE MAN YESTERDAY!!!! Calm down!!!

The next day there’s a pool party at the mansion. Nicole drapes herself all on Mel, monopolizing his time in the pool. Next thing you know they are making out in front of all the ladies, and this does not sit well with the other women.

    Rose Ceremony

Again! Another rose ceremony! They are speeding through this season! Four more women go home tonight. All the women who were eliminated this episode: Diane (SO cute!), Susie, Carla, Andra, Lisa, Alexandra, Mylene, Lily, Maia, and Tracy. Whew! To see this season’s cast, click here.

And that’s it for the premier, BBs! This season looks pretty good! I sure hope Mel isn’t a jerk. And I’ve already gotten the feeling that Nicole might turn into a villain. I hope not. The thing I love about the Goldens is how they support each other.

    Until next time! xo 🌹

  • BBs this is it! The finale! We start at 1 hour until the rose ceremony. Kathy and Keith decide to leave and say the money should go to a couple who needs it. Dale tells Jeremy he is going to vote Bailey, and effectively Jeremy, out. Everyone votes for two couples to go home.

    Rose Ceremony

Alexe gives her rose to Andrew, Jess to Spencer, and the final rose goes to Kat who gives her rose to Dale. Going home: Kathy & Keith and Jeremy and Bailey.

    Day 20

The next day Jesse announces the next relationship test. Each couple must hold weight equal to a percentage of their combined body weights while they are perched over a pool. If they drop the weight they go into the pool and lose. Kat and Dale are out first. Then Spencer and Jess. Which means Alexe and Andrew win and are guaranteed a spot in the final test!

Later Spencer and Jess tell each other they love each other. It’s v sweet!

Spencer then meets with Jesse and picks out a ring for Jess. It’s a gorgeous 3 stone ring.

Later that night all the eliminated couples return as the jury. They get to vote on whether Kat & Dale or Jess & Spencer get to have a chance at the money along with Alexe and Andrew. Twisty!

Sean calls everyone over and tells everyone Kat’s been sending love letters to her ex and that she snuck in a laptop, that’s she’s only in Paradise for her career. Dale stands by Kat and stands up for her to Sean. No one likes what Sean had to say except Allyshia. Kat denies it and cries and goes to her room. Dale comes back to the group and announces to everyone that he and Kat are in it for the long haul. He really seems to love Kat. It’s time then for everyone to vote. After the vote all the other couples leave.

    Day 21- the final day

Kat’s v emotional. But did she do it? Hmmmm. I’m not sure. Jesse arrives with the jury’s vote. Jess and Spencer are voted in to be able to possibly win the $250k. This means that Kat and Dale are going home.

Kat and Dale leave and Jesse tells the remaining couples to kiss each other goodbye because it’s time for the final test. Turns out the money isn’t the prize, it’s the test. You can choose money or love. If both choose money, then neither gets anything.

Andrew chooses love. He’s waiting for Alexe. From where he’s standing he’ll be able to see her choose the money OR she’ll climb the stairs to where he’s waiting. Alexe (who owes a TON of money in student loans), chooses Andrew! It’s so v sweet!!! Jesse arrives and gives them 3 envelopes to choose from. They all contain a significant sum of money. They choose and win $125,000! Yay!!!

Spencer choose love. Then Jess arrives. They choose their envelope and win $190,000! Yay!!! Then Spencer proposes and Jess says yes! (which frankly, I was a wee bit nervous because of how she’d been talking!)

And that’s the end BBs! Not sure what’s coming next…but I’ll see you after the next Bachelor Nation premiere! xo 🌹

  • BBs it’s day 17 in Paradise. Amazing how they can stretch a little over two weeks into 9 weeks of tv! Hannah gathers all the women for a girls’ chat and asks if anyone is looking to get engaged at the end of Paradise? Kat says definitely not, been there, done that!

Then Jesse gathers the group and tells them to get dressed for a big, fancy dinner down by the beach. After dinner (where Kat is freaking out the entire time over flies), Jesse comes back and tells the group they are going glamping in the woods tonight. What no one knows is that it’s really a relationship test. A relationship therapist is secretly watching everyone. The group gets out to the site and they find boxes with their names on it. They have to build their own tents and everything is sabotaged (the matches are wet, their chairs are broken, etc). There’s literal horse poop everywhere, it’s hot as fire, and there are bugs EVERYWHERE!

Kat has a bug phobia and can’t stop crying, like I’m afraid she’s going to have a full on melt down. Dale is doing his best to calm her down. Keith is having a v hard time being away from his kids. After a couple hours, all the sudden there are these horrible loud noises coming from the woods. Jesse appears and calls an end to the experiment, sending everyone back to the resort.

    Next Day

Jesse takes the group to see the relationship therapist, Dr. Berman. Turns out she was watching them all through dinner, and all night at the camp site. Dr. Berman rates each of the couples. Keith and Kathy did well, but there’s no romantic love (which we all knew). Jonathon and Lea have a great working relationship, but no chemistry. Alexe and Andrew- the doctor couldn’t feel their chemistry either. Jeremy and Bailey- loads of chemistry, but no shared interests or alignment. Kat and Dale- he has a hero complex (not a surprise to Dale). Spencer and Jess have a good emotional connection. Kat and Dale win the test! They win immunity and a date.

Kat and Dale go on their beach picnic date. Dale tells Kat- You feel like home. It was always you for me. Kat says “same”. Yeah right Kat!!! We know you have a secret boyfriend!!!

Jess and Spencer are talking timelines. Jess says she’s not ready to move in together. Who could blame her??? She’s known the guy for 2 weeks! Spencer says he’s in love with Jess, but Jess says she’s not in love with Spencer yet, and that makes her nervous.

Later Spencer and Jess talk again and Spencer says he’s willing to take everything at Jess’s speed. This makes Jess happy as she’s afraid of making mistakes.

Meanwhile Alexe and Andrew tell each other they love each other. So cute!!!

Tonight everyone has to vote for the man who will be eliminated. Keith tells the guys he’s fine with getting voted off because he’s missing his family. Keith even tells Kathy he’s ready to go home. But then he chats with all the girls and they remind him he’s a valued member of the group and he changes his mind a bit.

    Rose Ceremony

Dale gives his rose to Kat

    Andrew to Alexe

    Spencer to Jess

Jeremy (UGH) to Bailey (who deserves better)

It’s the last rose but there’s a problem. The vote was tied. So it’s up to Dale to decide since he and Kat won the challenge. Dale’s always had it out for Jonathon because he thinks Jonathon was trying to go after Kat. So Dale sends Jonathon, and therefore Lea, home. Keith and Kathy get to stay.

    Next Day

There’s another relationship test. Jesse announces that TWO couples are leaving tonight at another rose ceremony!!! The relationship test is interesting. There are figures made to represent each person in the group. Everyone is asked the same questions like “who do you think is most co-dependent” or “who is most likely to cheat”. Then each person “answers” by stabbing a dagger into the corresponding figure. Whoever gets the least amount of stabs wins. Andrew and Alexe win!

Later, at the cocktail party, Jesse announces that tonight’s rose ceremony is the last one! Next week is the finale! BBs, I can’t wait! I’m dying to know who wins!!! But if you know, keep that info to yourself!!! No spoilers for me!!!

    Until next week, xo 🌹

  • WHEW BBs! This week was a DOOZY!!! Let’s dive right in! It’s day 15 of paradise. Hannah and Jesse gather the group for the next relationship test- Buried Treasure. One half of each couple will be locked in a treasure chest with some directions and a walkie talkie. Their partner then will have to follow their directions to complete tasks to find the 5 keys it takes to unlock the treasure chest. They have 30 minutes to complete the mission.

Alexe, Brian, Dale, Keith, Bailey, and Lea fail the mission. But Lea scores extra points from me because stray dogs follow her around. Cute! Also, why do none of these people know what a spigot is and some of them are calling it a SPY-got??? Hilarious! Allyshia and Spencer are the only people to finish the mission so it’s between them who wins the date. Later, Jesse announces Spencer and Jess win the date & they can’t be sent home.

At the cocktail party tomorrow, everyone will have to vote on the two women/couples to send home.

It’s Jeremy’s birthday. Bleh. I still don’t like him, but happy birthday or whatever. There’s cake and everyone sings and jumps in the pool. Later, Lea admits to Jonathon that she’s upset she didn’t meet her person in paradise.

    Next Day

Everyone is strategizing about who to vote to send home. Brian hears Sean saying Brian needs to go. Brian pulls Sean to chat about it and Sean LIES about what he JUST said on camera! Do they forget they are being recorded??? Sean’s running around trying to get everyone to strategize but no one is interested.

Jess and Spencer go on their date. It’s a tantric yoga session, then they have charcuterie by a pool.

Back at the resort, Sean is still campaigning. He has a name for it- Parliament of Paradise. He asks all the guys to meet up but only 2 show up. Funny!

    Cocktail Party

Kat asks Dale to be her boyfriend. He says yes. Funny, because just today I read an article that Kat had snuck in an iPad to communicate with a secret boyfriend. Then WHY go on the show and make out with Dale??? UGH.

Allyshia sits down with Bailey, Parisa, & Alexe. Allyshia is upset because she’s been hearing whispers of eliminating her and she trusted these ladies. They reassure her.

Sean pulls Kat to talk and says he feels betrayed because they are super tight, good friends, but she’s not admitting to it to other people, and is Kat plotting to eliminate Sean? Sean asks her Are we better friends than other people here? (a really hard question to answer, honestly) and Kat hesitates, which is all Sean needs to know. Sean snaps and starts raising his voice and cursing so Kat leaves the conversation. Sean then tells the camera (later in an interview I assume) that Kat is everything you think she is and he should have never defended her and she doesn’t give a %$&! about anyone but herself.

Everyone then votes for the couples to send home.

    Rose Ceremony

Jess gives her rose to Spencer. Alexe to Andrew. Bailey to Jeremy. Kat to Dale. Kathy to Keith.

Then, just as Jesse is about to announce who gets the final rose, Allyshia interupts and says she and Sean are leaving with their integrity. They join hands and walk out, but as they are walking out, Sean says to Kat “Don’t come crying to me when it ends (with Dale).” Nice touch, full of integrity.

Jesse then announces that Sean and Allyshia were going to be sent home anyway. Lea gets the final rose and Jonathon kisses her as a joke. Parisa and Brian go home.

Next week looks surprising! Until then BBs, xo. 🌹

  • BBs, this week’s episode INFURIATED ME!!! Let’s dive in!

We start out with Hannah and Wells gathering the group and taking them to their next relationship test. This test is called Secret Rendezvous. The group will vote for which guy will go home this week. Everyone has to answer questions individually, but they are trying to match with their partners, even though they can’t see what their partners are writing. The winning couple will be the couple with the most matching answers. Jonathon and Lea win! They aren’t even romantically involved!

Allyshia matched with Andrew, Dale and Parisa, Kathy & Kim, Alexe & Jeremy, Bailey & Spencer, and Bailey & Brian. Anyone who matched with someone other than their partner could meet up later in secret and have a rendezvous! Brian wants to rendezvous with Bailey so he can tell her about Jeremy secretly liking Susie and talking about that with Brian. So Brian sends Bailey a note. But she thinks Brian’s being sneaky and has romantic feelings for her so she refuses to meet up with him. Brian tells Parisa about everything with Jeremy. Meanwhile, Bailey tells Jeremy they should send Brian home.

Later Brian pulls Bailey to chat. Brian tells Bailey everything. About how Jeremy called Susie and how he said if Susie came back he’d propose on the spot. ALL of this was on camera BTW so we see you Jeremy!!! Idiot Jeremy thinks he can lie to Bailey about this and get away with it!!! Bailey starts crying and is SO hurt. She just wants to go home.

Jeremy is sleeping this whole time. Bailey goes to Jeremy and wakes him up. He admits he called Susie but then he denies that he wants to be with Susie.

Meanwhile, everyone in the group is talking about the situation because everyone knew about the phone call to Susie, but NO ONE told Bailey!!! Bailey is packing her things. Alexe goes to talk to her and console her.

    Next Day

Bailey and Jeremy go for a walk and talk. He keeps denying that he ever said he wanted to propose to Susie. He is such a liar!!!

That night, EVERYONE is talking about Brian and Bailey chatting. And they are upset that Brian told Bailey. I say good for Brian for standing up to BRO CODE and taking Bailey’s feelings into consideration!!! People are saying “Why insert yourself into someone else’s relationship?” Jeremy and Brian finally talk. Jeremy actually says Brian should have asked Jeremy if Brian could speak with Bailey!!! OMG!!! Jeremy doesn’t OWN BAILEY!!! All the guys are mad and piling on Brian. Wells is the only person who gets it! Yay Wells!!! Jeremy is campaigning to send Brian home. Brian’s being made into the bad guy here when Jeremy is the bad guy! It’s so unfair! Meanwhile, Jeremy and Bailey are still making out! I do not get it!!!

    Rose Ceremony

The men have the roses. Jonathon gives his rose to Lea. Spencer to Jess. Andrew to Alexe, Dale to Kat, Sean to Allyshia, Jeremy to Bailey, Keith to Kathy. Then we find out who everyone voted for to be eliminated. Brian was voted in! Yay!!! Brian gives his rose to Parisa. Going home: Kim and Faith.

Next week looks wild and stressful BBs! See you then!!! xo 🌹

  • After the Fireside Chat, we grabbed a couple drinks then freshened up for dinner. On the way to our room we stopped by the Pearl again to see it in the daylight.

Another view from our room’s balcony:

All of the green you see is real plants!

The view from one of the elevator lobbies near our room.

Tonight’s dinner was in the main dining room

and the theme was Caribbean Night.

After dinner we went to the pub, and on the way there we stopped for an Instagram moment in front of this floral wall.

The floral wall is across the way from Sorrento’s, the onboard pizza place. We didn’t have time to stop here to try their pizza. Next time!

At the pub we were grabbing a couple drinks when we ran into Lisa!

We chatted and caught up for a while then it was time for our last show- Back to the Future. On our way to the show we passed by the one man band kind of guy who plays this piano in the elevators!!! (among other places around the ship).

Back to the Future is a musical retelling of the classic movie in the Royal Theatre.

No photography during the show, of course. After the show we went back to our room to pack (booooo!) and go to bed. We arrived back to our room to see we got some more fabulous swag plus our debarkation information!

We got a great cookbook of all the cocktails you can get on board the Star of the Seas, a bookmark, a big 8×10 photo of the ship, and 2 travel backpacks that fold up into themselves! So awesome!

Tomorrow we have to get up early to leave for home…but not before we show you more of this amazing ship!!!

  • This morning we woke up fairly early (8:30 am) and had breakfast in the Windjammer buffet.

The view from our room this morning!
    Inside one of the elevators.

Then it was time for stateroom tours! Royal Caribbean gave us the opportunity to tour empty staterooms in all sorts of categories- from interior rooms to grand two story suites!

Unfortunately for me, being in the boot and scooter, it was too crowded for me, so CSP went and toured the staterooms on my behalf while I relaxed and read my book at the Pearl Cafe!

When he was finished with the tours, we met back up in our room and went to lunch at the Aquadome Market.

We chose the Feta Mediterranean station. I had a yummy chicken pita and CSP had a delicious pork pita.

We had completed our scavenger hunt for all of the stickers the other day so today at 3 PM we were able to get a grand prize! We got the crown and anchor sticker to finish off our water bottles, plus pins of Sailor and the Star of the Seas! So cute!

We had some time before our next activity so we shopped at the Royal Caribbean store. I stayed in my scooter on the outskirts of the store while CSP shopped and brought me items to review. A crew member asked me to move from out in front of a cabinet she needed to get into, so I moved my scooter a bit….and backed right into a display of ceramic mugs!!! OMG. I about died as they toppled over! Luckily, only ONE broke!!! My guardian angel is SO TIRED of me being on this scooter!!! We bought me a Star of the Seas t-shirt as quickly as we could after that!!!

Stopped at Starbucks for a quick drink before our next activity.

At 4 PM we had another “work” event, a Fireside Chat back in the Royal Theatre with the CEO of Royal Caribbean Group and the founder of Royal Caribbean. It was interesting hearing about the history of Royal Caribbean.

Next up…dinner and a show- plus a special guest!!!

  • Tonight we decided to try the buffet for dinner.

The theme of the night at the Windjammer buffet was France. The Windjammer buffet is set up with different stations (salads, bakery, desserts, etc.) and is very good. Also, one thing I really like is that if you went to the buffet to eat, but it was closed, they put out an electronic sign that says “Hungry now? Visit…” and it lists all the open restaurants onboard. Nice!

We ran into Mechelle (my Business Development Manager) at dinner and chatted for a bit. After dinner we went to the Aquadome aqua theatre for our show tonight. It was called Torque.

Think Cirque du Soleil meets Olympic Diving meets Stomp! It was absolutely INCREDIBLE!!! The soundtrack alone is chef’s kiss! The talent of these dancing divers is just unmatched! CSP even jumped in surprise at one point during the show! He’s not a “show” guy but he LOVED it!

After the show we walked back through the ship to our room. We loved how the ship looks all lit up at night!

The seating area where you can get soft serve ice cream.
The ship is beautiful at night, all lit up. We especially love this big abstract star!

We went back to our room for bed where we found some more swag gifts left for us- 2 large beach towels and 2 sets of towel bands! Towel bands are stretchy bands that hold your towel on your deck chair so the towels don’t blow away in the wind.

    Tomorrow….sea day!!!

  • This morning we woke up early and were in the main dining room having breakfast by 7 am. It was tasty! CSP is always happy when he gets his bagel and lox, plus he had a Bloody Mary. I had yummy French toast & a yogurt parfait.

The main dining room is v striking and is spans three decks!

At 9am we had a work event. Common Ground in the Royal Theatre. The CEO of Royal Caribbean, the CEO of the Royal Caribbean Group (Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, and Silversea), and Vicki Freed, the senior vice president of Sales, Trade Support and Service were there. Before they spoke, we had a preview of the Back to the Future show.

After their introductions and a brief message from each of them, they took questions from all of us travel advisors in the crowd. It was great! But I have to say the best part was at the end when they brought the Senior Dog Officer, Sailor, out to see us! She’s so beautiful! And very well trained. My dogs would have freaked out being with so many people!

Today we are at Royal Caribbean’s private island Perfect Day at Coco Cay. Unfortunately, because of my recent foot surgery, I couldn’t get in the pool or ocean, so we stayed on the ship to explore! This was our view of the island:

Back to the ship, I love how there is a lit sign in each elevator bank that shows you where everything is. All of the locations are divided up into aft/forward/port/ starboard.

When Common Ground was over we went back to the room to shower and get ready for the day.

I’m so impressed with all the art installations in the elevator lobbies.

We walked through the Music Hall- a very cool music venue, as well as the casino.

Then we had lunch down in Central Park at the Park Cafe. The Star of the Seas has all these neighborhoods, one of which is Central Park. It’s just beautiful, and full of real plants and even real birds!

CSP had the famous Royal Kimmelwick sandwich. He loved it!

I had some soup and an egg salad sandwich, which were very good!

We stopped by the Lincoln Park Supper Club for another peek.

Note, we met our room steward yesterday. His name is Gilbert and he’s from the Philippines. Our dining room servers are Jose and Joel. Gilbert, Jose, and Joel are all amazing! Gilbert got us the extension cord and distilled water we needed for our CPAP machines which kept us from having to stand in line at guest services. That was so nice and handy!

We did some more exploring and ended up at El Loco Fresh, the on board taco bar, for a quick snack. They have an amazing salsa and toppings bar.

Then we went to the frozen Lime & Coconut for some frozen drinks since it was HOT today.

I first got a frozen mango margarita, but I wasn’t crazy about it so I exchanged it for a Miami Vice ( a strawberry daiquiri & pina colada mixed. SO good!).

At 5 PM we went to Bolero’s for trivia (and did pretty well!). It was fun!

Then we went back to the room to freshen up for dinner.

    Next….dinner and a show!
