cheap-o fillip-o find of the week

thanks to mobile audio.net for my new sleek silver cell phone cover. nokia wanted to charge me $20 to change the color of my phone but at mobile audio i got 2 covers plus shipping for about the same price. jon just upgraded his phone to the same model as me so to eliminate confusion his phone is now black and mine is silver and we still have $$ in the bank.

sunday

morgan and i woke up and went to bruegger’s for bagels & caribou coffee.. came home and read the paper then set morgan up to watch grease & grease 2. then i did some much needed house cleaning. sara came over later and we all went down to the mall for a little while where we got some of the worst service ever from cinnabon. i came home and tackled our taxes. word to the wise: if you get married, buy a house in the same year or you will get jipped by the irs. apparently they don’t like people who are married, both working, but not home owning. it will be better next year though when we get to claim the house.

saturday

i was so wiped out from last night. i went home, ate some leftover pizza and took a serious nap. then i made devilled eggs and we went to marc & sara’s for marc’s birthday cookout. there was a ton of food & people. it was fun and the house looked great. met kevin’s new woman from ecuador, margarita. she was so great. it was good to see a lot of people that we hadn’t seen in a while like josh & kevin.

jon didn’t eat a thing at the cookout so afterwards we stopped by big al’s for wings. then we swung by and picked up morgan who came to spend the night.

friday night

morgan’s party went really well. it was a fun party to help chaperone. but man, nothing can wear you out like 6 squealing 12 year olds. we went to dinner at casco bay and they got to ride in the limo all night. then we went to ben & jerry’s where they ate an entire vermonster! those girls did not go to sleep until 6 am! they played games and just made a ton of noise in general. which means my mom, sister sara and i did not get a bit of sleep either. ay yi yi. i felt sooo hungover the next morning and i didn’t even have a single drink!

my pappy (paternal grandfather) turns 83 (i think) today. i really need to get down to florida to see him.

part-ay part-ay

tonight is morgan’s big 12th birthday party complete with sleepover and limo ride. it will be the 1st time i’ve slept away from home in a long time, but it will be fun. thinking about this party made me realize i don’t remember too many of my birthday parties until my 18th then i remember pretty much all of them. but i honestly can not remember a single one from my childhood. there had to have been one right? i even remember some of my sister sara’s parties, but not a one of my own. so weird.

the friday five

1. What are the first things that you do in the morning to start your day? have juice and cereal while watching the today show. take my vitamin & allegra.

2. What are the last things that you do at night before going to bed? brush teeth, wash face, lotion up, kiss the husband goodnight, perhaps read a bit.

3. What daily routine have you recently added to your day? feeding the new fish. plus my whole routine changed when we bought this house. i used to drive for at least 45 minutes each morning so i ate breakfast in the car and didn’t have time for the today show. it’s amazing what a difference 30 minutes can make in the morning.

4. What routine do you wish you get rid of? nothing really. i guess having to take my drugs, although this is the last month i’ll be on the pill.

5. What’s the one thing that makes you feel like something is missing if you don’t do it some point within your day? kissing jon goodnight. if he works late and can’t get home til after midnight i have to go to bed without him and that just sucks.

quidam

the cirque du soleil show “quidam” was absolutely amazing! we saw “o” on our honeymoon in vegas and where that show was elegant and breathtaking and impossible to believe with the huge water tank they used for a stage, this show was more intimate since we were in a smaller venue. it was a lot of fun and i found myself holding my breath while these people performed these amazing acrobatics.

we’re going to see quidam tonight. so excited– i hear it’s a wonderful show. we’re having chinese at house of tai pei before the show.

last night

i went to dinner with mom and morgan at souper!salad! last night. then we swung by melissa’s so i could pick up my w2 finally. her hair is growing back a little. she’s doing a home chemo treatment right now. she’s still in good spirits so that’s good. i still pray for her all the time. and davis is such a cutie. i can’t beleive he’ll be 1 soon!

i didn’t go home from mom’s til after 10. we just watched tv and hung out for a while. (me & mom and morgan) but i did get home in time to see the osbournes. i just love them! i tried explaining the show to my mom & morgan and i just couldn’t do it justice. i realized though that sharon osbourne really reminds me of my mom.

oriental

morgan’s birthday favors came in yesterday. so fun! i ordered a ton of stuff from oriental. she’s going to have 12 12yr olds for a sleepover friday. we’re going out to dinner in our pajama’s and we’ll be wearing the things i ordered: tiaras, beaded necklaces, big fat rhinestone rings etc. i wanted feather boas but they were just too expensive. i also ordered a bunch of stuff for their goody bags like disco ball keychains and glow in the dark tattoos. this is gonna be so fun!

happy birthday morgan!!

i can’t believe she’s already 12. my sweet baby sister is growing up. i feel so old. she’s shaving her legs now. i’m gonna need a day to recover when she gets her period.

spooky

jon had to work late last night (til midnight). i’m still not used to being all alone in the house at night. watching panic room previews doesn’t help. i swear i heard 4 gunshots last night.

blast from the past

i talked via email with heather today. she’s the ex-girlfriend of my ex-boyfriend damon. it’s kinda weird that we’re friendly with each other since we both dated the same boy (and at one time we were both dating him at the same time). but i’m glad we are. she’s really great. anyway, turns out damon got married in september and heather sent me a link to some pictures. click on clients then he and tammy are the 2nd row, 2nd, 3rd and 4th pics in. he looks very handsome. she doesn’t strike me as the type he would have married. i don’t know what i was picturing, but he looks happy and that’s what’s important.
