Who knew m&m’s didn’t have to say m&m? Yep, you can personalize m&m’s for parties, weddings, new babies, etc. And you can choose from all sorts of colors. How fun! I’ve always wondered how they managed to stamp each and every m&m. Teeny tiny Sharpies I guess.

I’m sitting in the waiting room at my doctor’s office near the door where the nurse calls your name. A nurse comes out and calls a man’s name. A tall, lanky man walks across the waiting room wearing a bright red t-shirt. The nurse says “How are you today” to which he replies “Absolutely stunning.” What?! As he’s walking past me to get to the nurse I read the large letters on his shirt. I read them twice to make sure that it does indeed say “Made in Vagina.”

The last ornament has been hung on the tree. The mantle is decorated. I just need to sew Kea’s stocking and we’re all set. Our stockings are all a deep blue and those are hard to find. Plus, I’m not paying $15 for a stocking for a dog. So Jon bought 2 blue stockings at Michaels with white cuffs and I’m going to replace the cuff on one with the blue fabric from the other. They were on sale for just $1.79 each. Woohoo! More pictures here.

Sunday was Jon’s 33rd birthday. His parents took us to brunch then we came home to watch some football and play with the pugs. At halftime we went to their house for dinner, presents, and the coolest cheeseburger cake that my MIL made. They gave Jon a mini gas grill, so there was a bit of a theme. She always makes the cakes from scratch and tries to theme it all. Last year it was a pug. The cake was just amazing. It was all edible, and really good. The “meat” even looked juicy! More pictures of the whole shebang here.

The teeniest pug in the world turned 1 year old today! I can’t believe she’s an adult now! My baby Kea is all grown up!
*That’s Jon holding her, not the unabomber. He has a new love of hoodies.

Picture it: Walmart, small town America, Friday night (what exciting lives we lead). We’re walking past the clothing section on our way to the grocery part when I notice a man standing very close to the mirror in the ladies department. He’s got his nose all smooshed over to one side and is popping zits. In public! He’s so engrossed with his task and is working with such concentration that I’m able to catch up with Jon, point the zit popper out to him, and Jon has time to look over at the guy and say “Nice”. All the while the zit popper is STILL going at it! Dude, we can see you! You are not invisible!

Restoration Hardware sells the most amazing stuff. One of my favorite things is Good Home Company’s Beach House linen spray.
This spray literally smells exactly like a beach house. The beach, and all that goes with it, is one of my favorite scents. The air, the salt water, the sand, the coconutty flavor of suntan lotion, my spf 495 sunscreen, all mixed together and you have Beach House. You only need like 1 squirt a night, and it lasts forever. I even take it with me on vacation to cozy up that hotel room scent. Plus, it makes the pugs feel more at home (at least that’s how I justify buying it), so that’s an added bonus. Now, back to the grind that is my Christmas card list. We’re up to 73, and that’s with deleting those people that we only have contact with via Christmas cards. We have big, extended families. Yowza, I think next year we may have to take a hit out on half the fam! Just kidding Uncle Kevin, you’re safe. For now…muhahahaha!!
p.s. I’d show you a picture of the spray, but since we got the mac I can’t figure out how to copy images to my own server from websites. But I did link to it, and boy howdy guess what, it’s on sale! Thanks Elaine! You’re the best! -
Watching: Spiderman 2 & Harry Potter and the prisoner of Azkaban thanks to Netflix.
Reading: Glorious Appearing
Doing: Decorating the house, getting Christmas cards ready, knitting like a mad woman.
Discovering: As I unpack a box of Christmas decorations my dear husband packed, I finally find: my black Sketchers flip flops I’ve torn the house apart looking for, my Coach travel pill case I’ve been hunting for, and the DaVinci Code. All nestled in with the Christmas lights. Oy.
Loving: My Cushie pillow. Have you tried one of these? They are full of those tiny micro beads and holy cracker sandwich is it comfy. I’m especially excited as I’m a belly sleeper and this is perfect!
Waiting: For fruitcake. Gramy sends some down for me and FIL as we’re the only people we know that like it. That’s fine people, more for me! =)

We accidentally have the digital video recording service. Please don’t tell our cable company as we are completely hooked. I found it one day when I went to hit the 1 but hit the pause button just above it instead. And the action on the screen stopped and I was so excited! Now I can watch Ellen.
Speaking of tv… we’re hooked on Drawn Together on Comedy Central. It’s taken the place of Family Guy as our favorite naughty animated show (until Family Guy comes back- hopefully next year). They get away with so much on Drawn Together. Holy smokes.
Speaking of ex-con tele-evangelists…Jon’s Gramy was in town for Thanksgiving and then all this week. She came over to see the house Thursday and we toured her around our little town. She had brought Jon & his cousin to Heritage USA when it was in business so she really wanted to see the remains before they do away with the buildings. We were driving through and had stopped to take pictures when this man pulled up next to us and told us we could go inside and look around if we wanted to! I thought I was going to pass out. Gramy about had a stroke. Jon just groaned in agony (he’s not a fan of campy pop culture like me).
So we drove into the previously chained off parking lot, got out, took pictures, then went inside the Grand Hotel. A man met us and asked if he could help. He toured us around a little bit and gave us lots of good info. We couldn’t wander too far as it is an active construction zone. The hotel is just beautiful inside. There’s the main hotel, and the tower. He told us that a movie is going to be made using the tower as a prop. The movie company is going to implode the tower in a scene! I’m going to do all I can to watch that. So fun. But they are keeping the main buildings as they are still in good shape. A ministry has purchased the land and will be building a 5000 seat church on the grounds. They’ll be using the buildings for shops and a ministry school. A different man owns the water park, but it’s rumored he’s going to put in housing and retail shops and restaurants. Click here for pictures! Such excitement for such a small town!
