The other night Candice & I both had errands to run so we went together, including the kids. While in the car I realized we were running a little behind and told Candice I needed to be home by 7 to wake up CSP who was sleeping in the closet
so he could get ready to go to work. He’s doing the whole 3rd shift thing for a few more days. Meanwhile the girls (ages 5 & 3) are in the way back chatting and Charlie is in the 2nd row.Me- So do you think we can get to Sam’s and make it home by 7? I have to wake Jon up to get him off to work. He’s asleep in the closet though so there aren’t any phones near him so I need to be there to get him up.*a few more lines of conversation between Candice and I then there was a pause. Then from the back of the van, 5 year old Ellie piped up in her sweet little voice…Ellie- Did I just hear you say that Jon’s asleep in the closet?Me- Yes you did.Maggie- Was he bad?Oh man, those kids crack me up to no end! And Ellie! Nothing gets by her! She’s like a 30 year old in a 5 year old body. Smart as a whip. Then you’ve got Maggie who says the funniest things. They’re like the classic comedy pairing. The straight man and the funny side kick.So later I was over at their house and I told Ellie how smart she is and that she had a big brain. Then Maggie came over to me so I told her she had a big brain too. She came back with…I don’t have a brain, I have a ponytail.

PhoBloDays are here! Go visit our participants and see what they’ve got going on:
I tell you what, my peeps rock. And they apparently have way more interesting Fridays than I did yesterday. Ok, on to my photos.
Breakfast. Found this new cereal at Sam’s Thursday. It’s basically crack in a flake form.
Updated the blog & checked email.
Opened a box of satsuma oranges from Sandy, had one (yum!) and put the rest in the fridge.
Caught up on Grey’s from Thursday night. George & Izzy just need to break up. I’m tired of his hang dog face. I used to love him, but he’s been all woe is me for so long I just can’t stand it. Bring Denny back!
Had some juice and folded some laundry.
Did some more boring housework (and forgot to take pics of it, but trust me, nothing exciting). Then had to go back to Sam’s as the peanut oil I bought Thursday night had a leak and I needed to exchange it for a new one or how’s our Thanksgiving turkey gonna get deep fried?
Listened to some fun country on the way.
Stopped at CookOut on the way back for dinner for me & CSP.
After dinner I finished up my Thanksgiving cards
while watching Men in Trees. I ironed Jon’s clothes and sent him off to work then I crawled into bed with my 2 puggies and snoozed out. Exciting no? You may need a rest after reading about such adventures! Next time I do another PhoBloDays it’s gonna be one where I go to Paris and have lunch with Brad Pitt or something. -
And don’t forget you can join the Photo Bloggy Days Flickr Group!

So I totally forgot about PhoBloDays until just now. Doh! With all the Thanksgiving stuff on my brain there’s not much room for anything else right now. BUT- on with the show! Here are the rules again for those who’d like to play:
If you’d like to take part remember to leave a comment on my blog or email me to let me know and I’ll link to you on the big day.
Here’s the dealio:
Take a picture at least once every 2 hours. Photograph everything: your breakfast, the inside of your shower, your view when you wake up, what you see on your commute to work, your desk, your lunch, you get the idea! Things you think are every day and mundane to you are interesting to us!
Post your photos of Friday &/or Saturday 11/16 & 17. You can do both days to show the difference between work & play, or just the one day. I wanted to include a business & non-business day for variety. For those of us who don’t work outside the home, don’t fret- there’s tons of stuff for you to photograph!
Take pics of your day then post them later. Like you can take pics all day Friday then post them on Saturday or Friday night. Take your Saturday pics then post them Sunday or Saturday night or Monday even. No need to continually post throughout the day. Although you can do that too if you’d like. It’s totally laid back about when you post. Just make sure your photos are of Friday and/or Saturday. The main goal is to be able to go to different blogs and see what our bloggy friends were doing at the exact same time. Like I wonder what Lisa in Baltimore was doing while I was having lunch in Charlotte. That kind of thing.
Carry your camera with you all day. Start now to get into the habit. Go to sleep with your camera by your side!
Hope you’ll play!
xoxo

I made the mistake of listening to a country music station while driving yesterday. This resulted in full on sobbing while operating a motor vehicle. But I was inspired by the Country Music Awards last week. I only saw a few minutes of it, but those were a nice few minutes filled with Josh Turner singing Firecracker. And those eyes and that voice and that mouth can certainly inspire a girl. So I flipped my radio station to the local country channel in the hopes of hearing more like Josh. Instead I wept all the way down I77. Why oh why are the songs so sad? Why, Tim, did you have to write a song about a soldier who died, but not before writing poignant letters to his loved ones? Why did your friend Rodney Atkins (I’m assuming y’all are friends since Southerners are a friendly bunch and you’ve probably met at a music function) have to go and sing a song about praying to be a good father and chicken nuggets? And can you ask Kenny Chesney about the father/daughter song There Goes My Life? It KILLS me. Y’all are rich people. With (I’m guessing) good lives and few real worries. Sing some happy songs. I bet you could afford to buy an iPhone. And a golf cart. Plus you have kids. All those things would make me happy. Don’t they do the same for you? Just think about it next time you pick up the ole 6 string.
I can’t drive through my tears. Hey, that might be a good song verse!

Well, I can tell you that you won’t find pics of the girls on the world wide web. There are plenty of other girls out there who will show you that.
In other news, the last time I was at the doctor they took blood and I’m apparently still, STILL, anemic. So they put me on vitamin D. A dose so strong I can only take it once a week. I’ve been on it for 3 weeks now and it is kicking my patootie. I am so nauseous. All I can eat is soup and cereal. I go back to the doctor this week and I’m going to beg them to find something else. Ugh.
An aside: I’ve always been a little jealous of people with that good skin color that allows them to wear super dark toenail polish, like black. I think that looks so cool. I’m so white if I painted my nails black it would look like I had the plague.

I’ve been dying to show y’all this project I was working on, but I couldn’t until I could finally give it to Shannon. I made a growth chart for her baby Emily. I’m really pleased with it. I bought a 6 foot piece of wood (a 1 x 12). Then CSP cut it down to 5 feet long for me. I also bought little blank wood ladybug, dragonfly, and bumble bee shapes. Plus wood letters.
I painted everything then glued the 3d parts on, sprayed it all with sealant and voila! A growth chart that can move with the family if they move. Click on the photo to enlarge, and click here for close ups. -
