Today we are in beautiful San Juan, Puerto Rico!

We woke up fairly early to have breakfast in the Galley. We noticed our ship was docked next to the MSC Grandiosa. Huge ship! It holds 6334 guests plus crew!
After breakfast we went back to our room to get covered in sunscreen and grab what we needed for the day then we walked to Old San Juan.
We noticed there were 4 ships in port!
Ours (the Resilient Lady), the Grandiosa, MSC World America (that we saw in Miami), and Carnival Magic. The World America holds 6762 passengers, and the Magic holds 3690 passengers. So that’s 18,886 extra people walking around San Juan (if everyone got off the ships)!!! Not including crew! Amazing!

It was HOT and sunny today. A gorgeous day for taking in the sights. We didn’t really know where we were going, we just walked in the direction of Old San Juan. As we were leaving the dock area we were walking behind two couples. The women were both wearing stilettos that had to be at least 3 inches tall! I couldn’t believe it! My feet hurt at the end of the day from walking over 4 miles on cobblestone streets and up and down hills, and I was wearing my sneakers! I can’t imagine how they must have felt!
There was a band singing with 2 giant bugs dancing when we started our day…and they were still there dancing and singing when we returned to the ship!

We walked along the perimeter of the original wall that was built to protect the city of San Juan.

They are restoring the wall.

It’s wild to see the juxtaposition of the old wall and modern architecture and playgrounds.

It seems like the entire city is decorated for Christmas! I bet it looks amazing at night!

Walking in the shade was really nice.
Loved all the chickens running around the city!

We made our way down to the ocean while following the wall.

We found a beautiful fountain,

In this little alcove I stopped to take a seat for a moment. A lady sat down next to me and we got to talking. She was there on the MSC Grandiosa, on a 17 day transatlantic cruise. That’s a LONG time to be on a cruise ship!!!

I like this little turret. People used to be tiny!

This is me walking into the original gate to the city.

CSP & I in front of the giant Christmas tree!

We went through the gate to the city and climbed this cobblestone hill.

We couldn’t believe how bumpity the roads are!

Streets are super narrow and you have to be a champion parallel parker to live in San Juan!

I love all the brightly colored, gorgeous homes!

We liked this beautiful park .

We even saw where they invented the piña colada! We bought a magnet to commemorate our time in San Juan and made our way back to the port. As we entered the port area, we witnessed a huge shouting match between a taxi driver and a tourist. It was SO loud!

CSP took this selfie of us in front of the I love Puerto Rico sign. He’s 6 foot 5 inches tall and seems to forget I’m much shorter than he is! I’m on my tip toes here trying to get into the shot! LOL

We boarded the ship and went up to the Galley for a late lunch. Above is the map of the Galley. The Galley is open 24 hours a day, so you can always find something to eat.

There are these 2 grab and go stations at both entrances to the Galley. You can get salads, wraps, sandwiches, fruit, desserts, granola bars, etc. here. CSP would pick up charcuterie to keep in our room fridge for later when he’d get hungry.

On our way to our room we passed these crew members cleaning. LOVE the backpack vacuum cleaner!

View from our balcony after we set sail from San Juan of the other 3 ships in port.

We went back to our cabin to change out of our sweaty clothes, nap, shower, then dress for dinner. Dinner tonight is at Pink Agave. We were a bit early for our reservation so we took a seat at Sailor Services where we saw this sign.
Finally it was time for our reservation so we made our way in to Pink Agave.

I love the entrance to this restaurant! It, like most of the ship, is v v Instagram worthy!

Love the light fixtures in the bar!

I love the artwork on the menu!

They gave us spiced nuts to start that CSP loved.

CSP started with the guacamole that came with pomegranate seeds, so pretty! He says it’s really yummy too!
I started with the street corn. Delicious!

We both got the shrimp appetizer too. So good! Those are little potatoes with the shrimp.

For my entree I had the chicken enchiladas that are on the appetizer menu. Soooo yummy!
CSP had the pork which came with handmade tortillas.

For dessert I had the flan and CSP had the chocolate tacos. Mine was excellent and CSP enjoyed his very much!

After dinner we walked around the ship a bit and scoped out where our cabin is located for our next cruise. Then it was time for bed!
Tomorrow we are in Samana, in the Dominican Republic!
