Sam- the oldest dog in the world, our family dog, went to heaven today. He was at least 17 years old. He came to live with us as a rescue and we were told he was 3 years old, but he could have been even older. He’s just been around forever. He’s the sweetest, best little guy. We have lots of great memories of him (like when he took a pair of my mom’s panties to all the neighbors’ houses).
Quite a few years ago he started having seizures. Over the last couple of years they have just gotten worse and worse to the point that he screams. Breaks your heart. Then he started losing his hearing, his sight, and his hips have gotten bad. So it was time to go up to puppy heaven. The house, especially the mountain house, just won’t be the same without him. Papa was with him at the vet when he went to sleep for the last time. We love you Sammy boy!

I bet he had a really good life with you all. He looks like a sweet, fun boy. I know your heart is sad. We just love them and squeeze them while we can.

Sorry for your loss…I am sure he was a sweet boy and had a very good life. He is on the other side of the rainbow bridge happy and healthy waiting to be reunited with his family 🙂

Rest in Peace Sam – he sounds like he was a wonderful dog. My cat just passed away after 18 years, it was really hard.
