Momo turns 21 next Spring and she wants to go to Vegas to celebrate. I looooove Vegas! But jeez, we just went in August 09 and now we have a kidlet on the way. I have no idea how I’ll be able to pull this off. Next Spring is also our 10th anniversary and in December 2011 CSP turns 40. That’s a LOT of celebrating for one year. I hope we win the lottery between now and then! If we really are able to afford to go to Vegas it would be wonderful to be able to stay somewhere in view of the Vegas Bellagio Fountains.
The Bellagio Fountains are one of my very favorite things about the famous Las Vegas Strip. There are certainly some elements to the strip that can be tacky and gawdy (though in all fairness the Strip is classing it up over the last few years), but the Bellagio Fountains always stand out for me as such an elegant sight. I’ve only been to Vegas twice but each time we had a view of the Bellagio Fountains and it was so wonderful. I just love the lights with the water, how the water show is choreographed with the music, all of it. It’s like a fancy pants aquarium for me in that I could just stare at them for hours and be lulled into a zen-like state.
If it’s your first trip to Vegas you MUST spend some time chilling out in front of the fountains. Watch the show, listen to the music, and relax. If you’ve never seen the fountains you can check them out in this video, although it’s nothing compared to the real thing! And if you can, try and book a room with a view of the fountains. Everyone loves a great view and the fountains provide an ever changing, gorgeous view.
The best ways I’ve found to view the fountains are from a high floor in the Paris Las Vegas hotel, from the observation deck of the Eiffel Tower, and of course from the street. I’d love to eat dinner sometime in the Eiffel Tower restaurant within view of the fountains. What a wonderful thing to look at while you’re having a meal in one of the most exciting cities in the world! Momo has never been to Vegas and the fountains are definitely on my top 10 list of sights I want to make sure she sees!
We finally made it there this past November. Vegas is so much fun! I LOVED the fountains. We kept going back over and over again to see them. It was getting really windy a few times and they canceled it on us. boo. But I agree, seeing them atop the tower is amazing.

I agree, the Bellagio Fountains are my favorite as well. Before I went to Las Vegas, Jason told me how cool they were, and I thought he was crazy–I thought “how could fountains be that cool?” Now I know. At our bloggy meet up there, we ate at Mon Ami Gabi at Paris at an outside table with a view of the fountains. Love it!
