Scene: the other night we’re in bed about to go to sleep. I was laying (lying?) on my back reaching for my CPAP mask. I pulled on the tube until I met resistance and realized my mask was stuck between the bed and the wall. I twisted around and jammed my arm down in the crack to reach my mask but ended up getting my arm stuck.
Honey, I need your help. My mask is stuck and I can’t get it and now my arm’s all stuck and Kiki’s on me and I’m all twisted and can you help me?
Just pretend I wasn’t here.
What?? But you are here! And I need you to help me!
But what if I weren’t here? Then what would you do?
And then that punk husband of mine turned off the tv and rolled over! I finally got my arm out, not without a bit of scraping from the textured wall, and I had to turn on the overhead light and dig around before I found my mask. But I found it. He noticed.
Now, don’t you feel good about yourself?
PUNK!

Turn about is fair play.
CSP: Hey you really need to go to the grocery store (or insert whatever you normally do that he normally doesn’t)
You: Pretend I’m not here
Then after he gets back from the grocery store you say with a smirk, “Now don’t you feel good about yourself?”

It’s what we men do when we aren’t feeling properly appreciated… which is pretty much all of the time. Yeah here comes the stream of fragile ego comments…blah blah blah. Still laughing, a bit.

I think I might have said, “I’ll feel good injuring my arm as I smack the heck out of you’!
Love the new look woman, by the way.

Cool new blog banner!
Oh, and it’s “lying.” You’re right. “Laying” means to put or to place. (Sorry ~ I’m currently editing a freelance assignment and am in “grammar mode.”) :D
