  • Golden Bachelorette Week 3

    BBs this week triggers water works again! I swear, Joan’s guys are so sweet!!! We’re still in LA and up first is a 1-1 with Pascal, but before that they show some footage from the mansion where self proclaimed high maintenance man Pascal says “Cooking, and cleaning, it’s not for me”. High maintenance- no kidding!!! Joan drives up to the mansion in a bright red convertible car and all the guys come out to ooh and ahh over it. She drives off with Pascal and takes him to a private plane that they take to Las Vegas. They go to the Paris hotel (where CSP and I stayed on our honeymoon!) and up to a suite where there’s a man playing a grand piano. There are racks of fun clothes for both Pascal and Joan to try on. Then Wayne Newton pops his head in and comes in to serenade them! Wayne has inky, black dyed hair and the brightest veneers I’ve ever seen! His teeth are practically glow in the dark!!! Joan and Pascal get all dolled up and have fake dinner out on the strip then go on the big ferris wheel, where Joan gives Pascal the rose.

    Back at the house, the men are SUFFERING because no one is getting any sleep. They are used to sleeping alone, not in a room with 5 other guys. So Charles L and Gary make a drugstore run. They buy ear plugs and sleep masks and melatonin. They pass out all the goodies to the guys back at the mansion. Later, Charles L sits down with Guy the doctor and asks Guy some questions about his wife’s death. It’s incredibly heartbreaking that this mild mannered, sweet, sweet man has been carrying these questions around in his heart for the last 6 years since his wife died. Guy helps Charles feel better about everything.

    Group Date- Kick Ball

    The guys get really physical playing kick ball! The blue team wins extra time with Joan by winning the game. Charles L is on the blue team and he’s never played kick ball or baseball before. He’s thrilled when his team wins! It’s the cutest! I don’t think Charles L is right for Joan but he needs to be protected at all costs!!!

    At the after party Gary tells us that Joan made him feel like he matters. MY HEART!!! These poor men are all just wanting to be seen! Aren’t we all? Isn’t that all we want? Is to matter to someone else. Cue the tears!

    The next day a masseuse comes to the mansion to massage all the guys. Kick ball really kicked their asses!!!

    While all this is going on, Joan receives a phone call from home. Her 92 year old mother is sick with a respiratory illness. So she’s worried about her mom while trying to juggle dating all these men.

    Jonathan 1-1

    Jonathan and Joan go horseback riding. Jonathan is wearing a shirt that’s open almost to his navel! Button up a bit! Although he IS a cutie and can pull it off! Jonathan shares that he’s Native American and the story of how his ex-wife sprung a divorce on him out of the blue.

    Back at the house, Captain Kim writes a song he wants the guys to sing to Joan. It’s kinda catchy! But none of the guys seem to keen on singing with Kim so he pouts a bit.

    Cocktail Party

    Joan arrives for the cocktail party looking stunning in her beaded, lavender dress. She starts the night by sitting down with all the guys. She shares with them that she’s not 100% sure she’s ready for love, ready to move on. And that there will ALWAYS be part of her that will belong to her late husband John. It’s v emotional and all the guys are v supportive and impressed with her. Gary writes a prayer for Joan’s mom. Later, Guy and Captain Kim sing Joan Kim’s song. All the guys are trying so hard to cheer Joan up. It’s so sweet!!!

    Rose Ceremony

    Joan is v emotional and says how she hates sending anyone home because they all deserve to be here. Gregg, Charles K, and Captain Kim are sent home. Too bad for Pascal because Gregg was doing Pascal’s laundry!!!

    Next week looks like one of the guys makes the decision to go home! That is, if previews are to be believed. Drama!!! Until then BBs, xo 🌹

  • Golden Bachelorette Week 2

    Welcome to week 2 BBs! This week we’re starting the dates and getting down to the nitty gritty!!! The episode starts with the guys exploring the Bachelor mansion. The guys are all talking about having to get up multiple times a night to pee and poor Charles L is stuck with the top bunk. Pascal is super high maintenance and is complaining about the lack of closet space. Also, he sleeps naked. Try and scrub that thought from your mind!!!

    Group Date 1

    It’s Prom time!!! The guys get dressed in all these wild, fun tuxedos. We’re talking velvet, lamè, and wild colors. Joan picks them up in a stretch limo, looking beautiful in her prom dress. They go to a high school gym where Taylor Dane sings. The men have a dance off and they all take fun prom photos. Jonathan shares with Joan that when he was in high school he was the only person of color at his school. He asked a girl to prom and she accepted. Then a week before prom she backed out of the date so he never got to go. So sad!

    Poor Charles L is sitting alone in the bleachers while everyone is dancing! Joan sits down and chats with each of the guys. Charles L tells Joan that today is the first happy day he’s had since his wife died! Protect this man at all costs!!! I love him so much!!!

    Joan crowns Jonathan prom king and they get crowned then have a dance. All the other guys are cheering for them. That’s why this show is so special! These guys aren’t on the show to become influencers! They are really, truly looking for love. They are all so genuine.

    Back at the house we see Gregg doing Pascal’s laundry (P pays Gregg $100 a load!!!) Also, Gregg apparently snores like a mack truck!

    Chock 1-1

    Disneyland!!! Joan meets Chock at the train station at Disneyland and gives him a pair of °o° ears to wear. They look cute together in their ears! They ride rides and interact with characters and it looks like a really fun day. Plus they are chatting non stop! That night they have fake dinner at 21 Royal in Disneyland. Joan is now in a gorgeous Cinderella blue gown and Chock is in a classic black tuxedo. Chock shares with Joan his love story with Kathy who died after only 9 years together of glioblastoma. SO sad! Chock gets the rose then they watch the Disney fireworks.

    Group Date 2

    Talent Show! Loni Love comes to host. Gregg does a stand up routine and he is funny!!! Dan shares that he has tremors in his hands (a genetic thing), but then does this fun ribbon dance. Dan wins the talent show then gets to have Fake Dinner with Joan. Meanwhile, Captain Kim is upset he didn’t win. Dan gets the rose.

    The next day, instead of a cocktail party, they have a BBQ. Talk about a LOT of opinions!!! Just gather 20 men around a grill!!! Mark talks about how beautiful Joan looks. I think he’s smitten! It’s so cute! Joan visits with each man (at least it seems that way) and she and Mark share a kiss!!! Yay!!! Mark is only 57 and he lost his wife 6 years ago. So he was my age! Such a scary thought!!!

    Rose Ceremony

    Joan is STUNNING in a chartreuse dress!!! Mark gets the first rose. Going home: Michael from Charlotte (didn’t much like him), Bob, Christopher, and Jack. Yay for Jack getting the boot! He seemed to only be interested in hanging out at the mansion and jumping in the pool!!!

  • Golden Bachelorette Premiere

    BBs! I’ve been so busy lately with work that this premiere totally fell off my radar and I didn’t have a chance to watch until today. But it was completely worth the wait! So let’s dive in!

    Joan, as you may remember, was on the Golden Bachelor, but left early because her daughter called and needed her to come home. So I’m so excited she’s the Golden Bachelorette! We start the episode with Joan’s love story with her husband, John. They were together 33 years until he died of pancreatic cancer. So sad!

    Then it’s time for the show. Joan arrives at the Bachelor mansion and looks stunning in her beaded, golden dress! She’s to have 24 eligible bachelors woo her. BUT we aren’t going to see much of one of them. You may have heard that Gil Ramirez had a restraining order taken out against him in the short period of time between when ABC ran background checks and when production started on the show. So they are editing the show to minimize Gil’s screen time. Way to go ABC!

    I’m not going to detail every limo entrance, just the stand outs. First we have Pascal. He lives in Chicago but was born and raised in Paris, France and has that fabulous accent. He’s pretty cute too! Kim is a retired Navy captain and he arrives in his uniform. Jonathan is SO CUTE and is in fantastic shape! Michael is from Charlotte! Jack arrives singing My Way, and while he doesn’t have a bad voice, something about him creeps me out. Charles L. is the sweetest widower. Guy is an ER doctor and is pretty cute too! David rides up on a horse, then wants to take Joan to meet the horse but the horse has run away! ha! Keith pulls up in an old station wagon, complete with luggage strapped to the roof. He’s 6’5″ and seems like a really fun guy. The last man to arrive is Mark, Kelsey’s dad. Kelsey introduces him to Joan and it’s all v cute!

    They all move inside and Joan gives a wee speech, then Pascal steals her away first. It turns out Pascal moved to Chicago at age 22 from Paris and now he’s a successful salon owner. While they wait to chat with Joan, all the guys are talking to each other about their kids. It’s v sweet. One of the guys starts playing pickleball with Joan, then EVERYONE comes out of the house and grabs paddles and there are balls flying everywhere! Fun chaos!

    One of the main themes the guys are talking with Joan about is how at their age they all feel invisible, and Joan feels that too. It’s sad.

    Keith gets the first impression rose and the first and only kiss of the night!

    Then everyone gathers in the great room and Jesse wheels in a big tv. They all watch messages from all the mens’ children and even some grandchildren. It’s so sweet! All the guys are hugging each other and supporting each other and everyone is in tears.

    Rose Ceremony

    With about 6 roses left, Joan is overcome with emotion and leaves the room for a moment to talk to Jesse. She says it’s all just so much harder than she thought it would be- sending the men home. She comes back and finishes, giving Jack (bleh) the last rose. Going home: Bill, David, Ken, Pablo, and Thomas.

    Joan has a REALLY great group of guys! Well, except for Gil the stalker and Jack (IMO). I can already tell this is going to be an emotional season! I can’t wait to watch Joan get her second chance at love!!! Until next time BBs! xoxo 🌹

  • Bachelorette Finale

    BBs! I am SPENT after that finale! Spent I tell you!!! But before we get to why I’m so emotionally drained, we have a lot to cover. So let’s dive in!

    It’s time for the guys to meet Jenn’s family! Her best friend Nicole is here, plus her brother James, mom, and her aunt. Devin comes to meet everyone first. Mom isn’t holding back and tells Jenn that she doesn’t feel that Jenn and Devin have had enough time together. James is v protective of Jenn and when Devin asks for James’ blessing to propose to Jenn, James declines. Devin leaves feeling insecure because Marcus is still in the picture, plus not getting the blessing.

    Marcus comes to meet the family and something occurs to me. We never get to see the gifts the guys bring the families! I wanna see!!! All we see are gift bags. Shame. Anyway, James sits down with Marcus and later says that Marcus played ring around the rosy with my questions. Marcus gets emotional talking with mom and aunt. James asks Jenn how long are you willing to wait for Marcus? Jenn says I have hope but I don’t want to repeat history. Apparently Jenn has dated lots of emotionally unavailable men in the past. Jenn asks Marcus how do you see this ending, but he dodges the question. Jenn says I love you and Marcus replies with I know.

    Final Dates

    Devin’s date is first and they have a Hawaiian spiritual ceremony. That night Devin gives Jenn a stone he was given by the shaman in New Zealand. He was told to hold onto it until the right time, so this really touches Jenn.

    Marcus meets with Jesse before his date with Jenn. Jesse counsels Marcus that if Marcus loves Jenn he needs to tell her or he’ll lose her. Jenn goes to Marcus’ room and lays it all out on the table. Do you want to date? Do you see me in your future? Marcus deflects some and hems and haws but then says my highest aspiration in life is to find my person and start a family. Jenn- But is that with me? Marcus gets emotional and BBs when I tell you that one tear sliding down that beautiful face about wrecked me….LAWD help me get through this episode!!! Marcus then tells Jenn I know I love you (!!!) I don’t want to give up on us. Jenn steps away for a moment. She comes back and breaks up with him then leaves his room. She says she just can’t wait around anymore for someone to get there. My heart!!!

    Marcus is v emotional and says AGAIN that he thinks there’s something wrong with him! It’s so heartbreaking!!! Then we cut to LA where Marcus is there looking handsome as ever. Jenn comes out and they are so respectful to each other.

    Back in Hawaii, it’s the next day. Jenn tells Jesse she’s going to propose to Devin!!!

    Cut back to LA and a v somber Jesse. WHAT IS GOING ON??? Jenn is there and is sobbing!!! Jenn says she and Devin left Hawaii engaged but then immediately Devin started pulling away. That he dumped her in a 15 minute phone call and that he didn’t love her anymore. That he refused couple’s counseling. That he denied ever being in love and that he regretted getting engaged. Again I say, WHAT IS GOING ON??? Devin comes out on stage. He apparently dumped Jenn then the next day, THE NEXT DAY, followed Maria on Instagram. WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH MARIA??? Seriously! Someone make it make sense!!! Jenn lays into Devin about his behavior and the whole time Devin looks like he’s about to laugh. So disrespectful! AND he apparently went to NY right after the breakup and went clubbing with Jeremy. To this Devin says can I not have a life? UGH!!!

    Jenn is just in tears the whole time. Then, THEN, they show the proposal! They make this poor, heartbroken girl sit there and watch her proposal!!! And just before they cut to the proposal you can hear Jenn say “Do I have a choice??” when Jesse says can we roll it? I mean, I know it makes for good tv, but that’s just not cool ABC. Not cool at all. Poor Jenn is sobbing through the whole thing and she just looks wrecked.

    Then they show us a preview of the Golden Bachelorette. I sure hope ABC pays for some therapy for Jenn. She deserves better than she got. Justice for Jenn!!! Thankfully, Golden Bachelorette doesn’t start for a couple of weeks. I’ll need that time to recover from this emotional wreckage BBs!!! Until then…xo 🌹

  • Bachelorette Men Tell All

    It’s the Men Tell All BBs!!! Love this episode each season! Let’s jump right in!

    We start out with Grant Ellis telling his mom on the phone that he’s the new Bachelor. It’s v sweet and v cute! He has the best smile!

    Then we go back to Hawaii where Devin is on his way to see Jenn. He shares with Jenn that he feels like the safe option, that he’s wanted here but not needed here. Jenn is frustrated because she can’t express herself verbally as easily as Devin can. Then she tells Devin she loves him! Now she’s told BOTH Devin and Marcus that she loves them!!! She’s in a pickle!!!

    It’s time for the Rose Ceremony. Jonathon tells us that he has no doubt that he’s found his person in Jenn. Why are Jonathon’s pants so short and why doesn’t he have socks on?? Make it make sense!!! Devin gets the first rose, then Marcus. Jonathon is going home. Jenn walks Jonathon out and he’s such a gentleman the whole time they are saying their goodbyes. In the car he’s beating himself up over being a slow burn. That he didn’t “get there” fast enough. Poor guy!

    Back in LA, Jonathon joins Jesse and the other men. Let the Men Tell All begin! First up is Brett’s DMs. Hilarious!!! Then Aaron has to answer for dropping that bomb before he left the show. He told Jenn that some of the guys weren’t there for the right reasons and weren’t ready for an engagement. Next we focus on Sam N’s “I’m falling in love with you” bombshell on the group date VERY early in the process, I mean, journey. It’s Sam M’s turn in the hot seat next. He says “truthfully” sooooo much it could seriously be a drinking game!!! The man has not changed or grown one bit. Also, he’s wearing a light blue suit that looks to be at least one size too small. It’s so tight I’m shocked he doesn’t pop a seam! Jonathon is next in the hot seat and he’s still a gentleman. He says he’s excited to see Jenn. Jesse extends the v first invitation to Paradise next summer to Jonathon! Yay!!!

    After Jonathon we have a preview of a new show called The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives and the camera is on Hakeem’s face the whole preview. Hakeem has the most expressive face I think I’ve ever seen! I swear I think his eyes are going to pop right out of that man’s head!!!

    Grant comes out and is announced as the next Bachelor. He says he’s just looking for a kind soul. I sure hope he finds one and his season is filled with kind women and not just a bunch of Instagram wannabe influencers!

    Jenn then comes out on stage in a gorgeous, sparkly, lime green dress. She addresses Jonathon and he’s still such a gentleman. Then she moves on to Sam M. She says she’s going to keep the main thing the main thing and that this delusional way of thinking he has is not going to work and that she feels sorry for whoever he has a relationship with next!!! She really gives him the dressing down he deserves!!! Jenn reveals that online, Sam M blamed his persona on the show on clever editing, the producers, everything and everyone but himself. But Jenn said the man she watched on screen on the show was EXACTLY who he is in real life. I tell you, that man is a walking red flag. Stay away ladies!!!

    Finally we have bloopers, which I always enjoy. Then they end the show by re-airing Hakeem’s interaction with a giant spider in Australia on his group date because it’s sooo funny! Poor guy turned into a cartoon he was so scared! Of course they bring out a giant, hairy tarantula and put it on Hakeem’s leg tonight in LA. And BOOM there go the bug eyes again! But he’s v brave and sits through it! Jesse rewards Hakeem with the 2nd invitation to Paradise. Yay!!!

  • Bachelorette Week 8

    BBs this week we are in Hawaii for Fantasy Suites!!! And the guys are IN THEIR FEELINGS!!! We have Jonathon, Devin, and Marcus left. Let’s dive right in!

    Molly comes to counsel Jenn while Devin is golfing with Jesse. Then the dates begin.

    Devin- Devin is needing some serious reassurance here. He’s saying he’s been giving love for so long (ahem, we’re only on week 8 Dev), and he’s not getting an I love you back from Jenn. Jenn and Devin take a helicopter tour of Hawaii then swim in the ocean. That night he shares that he’s ready for an engagement. He wants to buy a house and raise kids and have a “normal” family. It’s all v sweet! The next morning he says he told Jenn again that he loves her without hearing it back and that you can only go so long without it being reciprocated. Again, Dev, you’ve known the girl for like, 30 minutes. Chill. Devin agrees to the Fantasy Suite.

    Jonathon- Jonathon and Jenn eat their way around Hawaii, then they go swimming at this seriously STUNNING water fall. That night they talk about their feelings and future…. I think? Ok so it was a bit boring and I might have zoned out a bit. Oh wait! I do remember them talking about that they want their kids to be proud of who they are and not ashamed or embarrassed to be different like they were. Jonathon agrees to the Fantasy Suite.

    Marcus- Marcus is golfing with Jesse too! What a cushy job Jesse has! He has to work for like an hour a week and he gets to travel the world playing golf! Marcus tells Jesse that he’s afraid Jenn is ahead of him when it comes to their feelings for each other because Marcus takes it all so slow. Jenn and Marcus take a boat out into the ocean and wait for the sun to set. Then they swim with bioluminescent manta rays!!! SO COOL!!! Later that night Jenn tells Marcus she’s in love with him!!! Marcus shares that he only wants to propose once and that he’s still unsure and she deserves someone who’s sure and “I’m not comfortable saying I’m in love”. BUT, he says he believes in the two of them and gets emotional, saying “I’m trying”. Marcus agrees to the Fantasy Suite. P.S. Marcus has the most adorable freckles. Swoon!

    Devin meets with Jesse to talk. Devin shares that he doesn’t feel like the one, he feels like he’s one of. He’s super emotional about the whole thing and decides he needs to go speak with Jenn.

  • Bachelorette Week 7 – Hometowns

    BBs! It’s Hometowns! My favorite episode of every season! Let’s dive right in!

    Houston- Devin

    Devin and Jenn meet up in a park. A few minutes later his run club comes over and they are all wearing Devin and Jenn t-shirts with hearts and their faces! It’s so cute! Then they all go for a run. Later Jenn goes to the family home to meet Mom, Dad, stepdad, grandma, grandpa, and brother. Devin is v v nervous. His family is so cute and seems to love Jenn. *Note- their house is FILLED with taxidermy animals! The fox is giving me the creeps for real for real. At the end of the night Devin tells Jenn he loves her. She says she’s falling hard for him.

    Connecticut- Jeremy

    For their day date Jenn and Jeremy go to the wildest grocery store I’ve ever seen! And I’ve seen some wild ones! It’s called Stew Leonard’s. There are animatronics! Fresh popcorn! Fresh donuts! Mooing cows and singing chickens! Wild I tell ya! It’s super cute and they seem to have a great time. Then they run into Jeremy’s aunt there totally by accident! Later they go to the family home to meet mom, dad, stepdad, sister, sister’s fiancé, and younger sister. Jeremy’s mom says that when Jenn described what she looks for in a guy, Mom thought “that’s NOT Jeremy”!!! Sister tells Jenn that Jeremy might not be ready for an engagement. Jenn tells sister that Jeremy has walls up. Jeremy’s mom doesn’t seem to hopeful for their relationship. Later, Jeremy tells Jenn he’s falling for her. She says that makes her happy.

    San Diego- Jonathon

    Jonathon and Jenn play some lacrosse. They both played lacrosse in college. Then they have a chat on the court. Field? Pitch? Go sports! Later they meet up with mom, dad, brother, sister, and SIL. Brother is V skeptical of the whole process, erm, journey. Mom loves Jenn. Jonathon tells Jenn he’s falling in love with her and she says it back.

    Tacoma, Washington- Marcus

    Marcus tells Jenn she’s going to meet Gabriella (sister) and Scott and Sue (mentors and married couple). What Marcus doesn’t know is that there’s a full on party with what looks like 30 people at Scott and Sue’s house! So fun! Jenn chats with sister and they get emotional. Then sister and Marcus chat and they get emotional too. Sister tells Marcus to let love in and let his guard down. Later, Marcus tells Jenn he’s falling for her and Jenn returns the sentiment.

    Rose Ceremony

    Before the rose ceremony, the four remaining guys get together for a beer back in LA. I LOVE this! They are all friends and there’s no animosity between them. It’s so nice. Marcus feels like he’s emotionally behind the other 3 when it comes to his feelings for Jenn. He’s a slow mover when it comes to love and he feels like there’s something wrong with him. Don’t compare yourself to the other guys Marcus! Comparison is the thief of joy!!!

    Jenn arrives at the ceremony with her boobs OUT in a down to there white dress! I was so worried there was going to be a nip slip! She must have a whole roll of boob tape going on! Devin gets the first rose and Jeremy is going home. When Jenn walks Jeremy out he says he thought they were on the same page. This gets Jenn thinking that what if she thinks she’s on the same page with the remaining 3 guys but they don’t feel the same way???

    Next week looks v emotional BBs! Get ready for 2 nights!!! Until then, xo 🌹

  • Bachelorette Week 6

    BBs! We’re at week 6 already! The week before Hometowns! This week we’re in Seattle, Washington- The Emerald City. There are 7 guys left. Charity comes to counsel Jenn.

    Marcus 1-1

    Marcus gets another one on one. A letterman jacket gets delivered to Marcus so he wears it when he meets up with Jenn. Jesse comes to see them and explains that their date is inspired by the new Wicked movie. Jenn and Marcus jump on a trolley car and make their way to town where they are instructed by Kelsey and Daisy to follow the yellow brick road. Along the road they find boxes and have to choose between a pink category or green category and open the corresponding box. Along the road, Charity appears and gives them a wand to pop bubbles. Inside the bubbles are a letter from Jenn’s mom and a photo and video from Marcus’s sister. This makes Jenn and Marcus emotional. They end the day part of the date with a hot air balloon ride.

    That night Jenn is gorgeous in a stunning hot pink ball gown! She is worried that Marcus isn’t as far along emotionally as she is in their relationship. They have Fake Dinner on the field at a baseball stadium. *I can’t remember the name of the Seattle baseball people. Mariners maybe? Go sports!

    Marcus shares that when he was a child his parents took him and his sister to daycare one day and never returned. They were placed in foster care and people would come along and “try them out” then change their minds about adopting them. This made Marcus feel like there’s something wrong with him. This whole thing just breaks my heart for him! Poor guy!!! Jenn gives him the rose.

    Group Date

    Jenn is at a radio show with I Heart Radio. Molly and Jason Mesnick are there, along with the radio hosts. The guys come in. We have Devin, Sam, Grant, Spencer, and Jonathon. The hosts ask rapid fire word association questions. When Sam is asked about Fantasy Suites he says “aggressive”. Oooookay. That’s odd. All of the guys are asked a bunch of questions like describe Jenn in 3 words, or what do you like about Jenn? and they all answer so sweetly, except for Sam. He’s all cliche all the time. His answers make ZERO sense. So the hosts ask the guys to leave except for Sam. The other guys listen in while the hosts and Jenn ask Sam more questions that Sam simply cannot answer. He talks and talks but doesn’t SAY anything. It’s like he’s been coached or has a script he can’t deviate from. It’s v bizarre!

    Night

    At the after party, Grant and Jenn are chatting when Grant tells Jenn he’s falling in love with her! Yay! I adore Grant! He says “I already chose you”. SWOON!!!

    Devin and Jenn talk about their feelings and Jenn tells Devin she’s falling for him. Uh oh. She didn’t say that to my guy Grant!!!

    When it’s Sam’s turn to chat, Jenn asks Why me? Sam hems and haws then blurts out “Because I love you”. WHAT?!?

    This confuses Jenn to no end so she decides not to give out a group date rose.

    Jeremy 1-1

    Jenn and Jeremy (who Jen calls Jer Bear all day. I don’t like it) go to Pike Place Market, Jeremy builds Jenn a bouquet of flowers and then they get their palms read. They visit bubblegum alley, throw fish, and actually eat some food! I about fell on the floor! That night they have Fake Dinner under a huge Don Chilhuly exhibit. It’s beautiful! They talk about Jeremy’s Jewish faith and how important it is to him. Jenn shares that she is Buddhist. They bond over their love of family and traditions. Jeremy gets the rose.

    The next day is Rose Ceremony day. But before the ceremony, Jenn decides to go see Sam. She basically asks him why does he love her. Sam doubles down on the whole I love you thing, but can’t provide any reasons why. Everything he says is all about him. He never asks her anything about herself. He’s not listening. It’s like he’s talking just to talk. Jenn asks “what did you learn about me” and he can’t answer with anything that makes sense. He just keeps saying I love you. Jenn gets frustrated and goes into the hall to talk to producers for a bit. She then goes back to Sam and tries again. He STILL can’t name one reason why he loves her. Jenn says she’s over teaching people how to love and prioritize her. That’s in the past and “I’m done”. They hug and he packs his things. If he really loved her he’d fight for her but he just shrugs and goes to the car. He tells production Jenn’s energy was “dull”. V odd again!!! And that “it wasn’t my fault and I’m going to keep the main thing the main thing. It is what it is.” I swear that man is a walking red flag of cliches!!! He’s like a robot who can only speak in pre-programmed phrases! BYE!

    Rose Ceremony

    There are only 2 roses left with 4 guys. Devin, unsurprisingly, gets the first rose, then Jonathon gets the last rose. BUT WHAT ABOUT GRANT??? My heart!!! Jenn walks Grant out but there are no tears or pithy final words from her. She just didn’t like him like that I guess. Spencer is also going home. Spence calls his mom and is v emotional when telling her he got sent home.

    I can’t wait for next week! Hometowns BBs!!! I can’t wait to see these guys’ families!!! Until then, xo 🌹

  • Bachelorette Week 5

    BBs, this week we start out back in Auckland, NZ just before the rose ceremony. If you remember, last week Jenn’s ex, Matt, arrived in NZ to ask Jenn could he join the journey. This week all the guys are ready to get the cocktail party started. They are all seated in a semi circle. Jenn comes in and tells them about her ex, Matt. That she is going to go speak with Matt and that he wants to join the house. Jenn leaves to speak to Matt and the guys are NOT happy. They think Matt has an unfair advantage. Devin is LIVID and says he will leave if Matt joins the house. Acting a wee bit petulant aren’t we Devin???

    Matt walks in and addresses the guys. He tells them that Jenn decided he won’t be joining them and will be going home. Jenn comes in and states that her future is in this room. There is no cocktail party and they go straight to the rose ceremony. Austin gets the last rose. Thomas (good. He’s a weasel) and John are going home.

    Jonathon 1-1

    They take a helicopter ride. Jonathon HATES helicopters and heights! They land at a vineyard and play hide and seek. That night Jonathon tells Jenn that he had an ex who was dealing with substance abuse. She gaslit him and told him he was controlling when he was just concerned about her. Jenn gives Jonathon the rose.

    Group Date

    Seven of the remaining guys meet Jenn in a field. All the sudden loads of sheep arrive with a couple who are the owners of the farm. The guys have to herd the sheep through a gate but none (!!!) of the guys thinks to open the gate! Ha! Chaos ensues! Sheep are running every which way. Then the guys have to shovel poop and do some other farmy chores. But Devin sneaks off to chat up Jenn. The other guys notice. However, the farmers do not notice and they choose Devin as Farmer of the Day. Devin then gets some extra time with Jenn. The rest of the guys are not happy about this!

    After Party

    Austin sits down with Jenn and tells her that he doesn’t feel like he can give her what she needs. He decides to go home. Jenn, shocked, walks him out then sits down with production. Jenn is v emotional about Austin leaving because she takes it as a personal affront. And that she wasn’t enough for Austin. She even says she feels worthless, which breaks my heart for her! Girl needs a good therapist!!! She feels like she’s not good enough and that she failed. All because mullet head Austin left! Jenn then goes back to where the guys are gathered and tells them about Austin leaving. She shares that she’s afraid she will end up alone. The guys are v supportive and empathetic toward her. She then chats individually with each of them. At the end of the night Jenn decides not to give out a group date rose because ALL of them were so supportive and showed up for her and made her feel better and she doesn’t feel it’s fair to single one man out.

    Grant 1-1

    Good LAWD but Grant is cute!!! Grant and Jenn go horseback riding to the beach where they have a picnic. But then it starts raining on them! They make the best of it and make out under an umbrella. That night over Fake Dinner (what do they do with all that wasted food???), Grant shares that his father is an addict and that he checked himself into rehab just before Grant left to do the show. Grant gets the rose.

    The next night at the pre-rose ceremony cocktail party, Grant tells the guys he’s falling for Jenn. Jenn then comes in and cancels the cocktail party and they go straight to the rose ceremony. The guys are all nervous because they were counting on having that time with Jenn. Jenn, btw, is stunning in a gorgeous purple, beaded, halter neck gown. I don’t know who her stylist is but ABC really stepped up their game with Jenn’s wardrobe! Dylan is the only person to get eliminated from the rose ceremony tonight.

    Let’s hope next week is more exciting because this week was a bit of a snooze fest BBs!!! Until then, xo 🌹

  • Bachelorette Week 4

    BBs it is week 4 already! This week we are in beautiful Auckland, New Zealand! Jesse and Jenn are in a restaurant having a snack while Jesse explains that it’s all his fault they have Fake Dinner and can’t eat on dates! Apparently it was his season and he was scarfing all the food down and making so much noise that it drove production out of their minds! So no more eating on camera!

    All the remaining guys are seated at an outdoor cafe. Jenn walks up and invites Sam M on a 1-1 date. They go to the Sky Tower and go up to the restaurant to see the views of the city. While there, the server tells them about how you can jump off the top of the tower or do the sky walk where you walk out on a ledge. Sam tells the server they’d like to jump, without consulting Jenn. This irks Jenn, and for good reason! Jenn is terrified of heights. She agrees to do the sky walk though. They get suited up and strapped to harnesses and cables and what not. They walk out on the ledge, which is 630 feet high!!! The whole time Sam is pushing for her to jump and not acknowledging her fear. This brings Jenn to tears. FINALLY Sam comforts Jenn. RED FLAG!!! They jump off the building one at a time.

    Fake Dinner

    That night Sam is wearing a nice, gray suit, a black shirt, and for some unknown reasons, WHITE socks with his black shoes. Who is dressing these men??? I guess I should be happy that he’s wearing socks at all at this point. Jenn opens up to Sam about how her absent father made her feel unworthy of love and a relationship. She wants to see if there is an emotional connection with Sam and not just a physical one. And he didn’t do so well today so he needs to step it up! Sam shares that he was engaged previously and his fianceé cheated on him, effectively pulling the rug out from under him and his dreams of being married and having a family. Sam gets the rose. Jenn says she’s falling for Sam.

    Group Date

    The group date this week is a rugby date! Makes sense with them being in New Zealand. Before the group learns how to play rugby, a Māori group performs a ceremonial Haka. It’s v impressive. Sam N is trying extra hard to sneak in extra time with Jenn. He’s all pumped up and says he’s making today all about Jenn.

    Back at the hotel, the only two guys there are arch rivals Sam M and Devin. Sam M decides to confront Devin, asking what’s your deal with me, Bro? There’s a lot of cursing.

    Back to the Rugby Royale….the guys are doing a great job! They are tackling each other and having fun and really putting in an effort. Sam N is being v aggressive though with his tackles. Grant scores the winning try (goal) and the blue team wins! That night at the after party, Sam N is rubbing all the guys the wrong way. He doesn’t speak to anyone on the walk over and walks ahead of them all carrying the rugby trophy. Then he won’t let Marcus sit on the sofa because Sam N wants the trophy sitting next to him! Marcus quietly tells Sam N to check himself. Sam N pulls Jenn to chat first. He’s still all puffed up and acting v aggro. He presents Jenn with a rugby jersey that he’s written Sam’s Wife on. Sam N says he’s “on that boss bitch energy”. Oooookay.

    Jenn and Johnathon play some lacrosse later and we learn that they both played in college.

    The guys sit Sam N down for a chat about his behavior tonight. They are trying to respectfully show Sam N how to win and behave with grace and respect, but Sam N is NOT having it and he walks away!

    When Marcus is chatting with Jenn he gets vulnerable. He was hurt during rugby (but you’d never know it). He saw the medic before the after party. Jenn tells him that he doesn’t always have to be the strong one. Marcus shares that when he went through all of his hard times, he was alone. So it’s hard for him to let other’s help carry the load.

    Thomas pulls Sam N aside to chat and it’s a no go. Sam N is still not hearing it and starts yelling immediately, not listening to Thomas at all. Sam N walks away. Note that Thomas has adopted Sam M’s catch phrase “I’m gonna keep the main thing the main thing”. Then, THEN!!! Thomas and Jenn are two minutes into their chat when Sam N interrupts. He walks straight up to Jenn and ignores Thomas, asking Jenn to chat. Thomas asks for 5 more minutes and Sam N says NO. So Thomas leaves the room. Sam N then asks Jenn for a kiss. It’s all v aggressive still and harried. It’s not a romantic moment at all. He sits down and launches into “this is a very important moment. Can I have a kiss?” What??? He might as well have asked her shoe size. Jenn pauses and says “I don’t know if I can see us getting there.” She knows it’s his first real kiss and says it should be a special moment. She then tells him she’s going to walk him out. In the car he’s v confused and feels foolish. As he should. Just be yourself Sam N!!!

    Jenn rejoins the group and explains that she sent Sam N home. Marcus gets the group date rose and he gets emotional after Jenn leaves when he’s talking to the guys about it. They are all v supportive of him and it’s so nice to see. It’s such a good group of guys!!!

    1-1 Devin

    Jenn takes Devin to a Māori cultural center. They watch the Māori dance and sing and they play games with them. They all go into the center and the leader of the group explains to Jenn and Devin a brief history of the Māori’s values. The leader invites Devin to speak about his background to the group. Devin shares that his father immigrated from Mexico to the US, but never married his mother. He says his mother is super important to him. Jenn shares about growing up Vietnamese and Buddhist in the suburbs where no one else was Vietnamese or Buddhist.

    That night Jenn is looking so pretty in a gorgeous lime green dress. Devin shares that there was a lot of instability and moving around in his childhood, and that he wasn’t the best behaved kid, but that his mother never wavered. Devin asks Jenn about her father. You know, I think this is the first time since I’ve been watching this show that they’ve shown an actual conversation!!! Usually it’s just: sit down at fake dinner. Share a vulnerable story. Make out. Get the rose. So, I’m thrilled right now! Jenn shares that her dad decided one day he didn’t want to be married or a father anymore so he divorced her mom, left, and never spoke to them again!!! How awful!!! No wonder she was looking for affection from emotionally unavailable men! Devin tells Jenn he’s falling for her and gets the rose.

    The next day is Rose Ceremony day but all the sudden, while the guys are getting dressed for the cocktail party and rose ceremony, Jesse appears and tells us all documentary style, that there’s a guy from Jenn’s past here. That this guy flew himself to New Zealand on his own dime to see Jenn. Guy arrives. His name is Matt and he and Jenn dated a few years ago for a few months. They reconnected a few months ago as friends but Matt still loves Jenn. Jesse sends Matt over to where Jenn is filming with producers. Matt is a tiny man, btw. Matt surprises Jenn. Matt tells Jenn he loves her and wants to join her “journey”.

    And that, BBs, is that! That’s all we get until next week! All I know is the other guys are NOT going to like Matt joining them!!! Until then, xo 🌹
