Last night I made some more jewelry that turned out really well. I’m very excited about it. We just got back from mailing some of it off to a couple lucky ladies. Plus I had to get Brian’s birthday present in the mail and send off some Ebay stuff. I hope everyone likes all their stuff. I can’t wait for the next swap where we have to do a craft so I can make more.
Today we’re going to J’s cousin Dana’s high school graduation party. I made her a bracelet/earring set that’s so cute and I’d post it but I couldn’t get it to upload. I hope she likes it. Teenagers are tough to buy for. We also got her an IKEA magnetic board and I made some marble magnets. Talk about planning ahead, we’ve had the board & magnets for months.
Tomorrow we’re heading up to the mountain house to open it for the season. I’m so excited! Sara and my nephew Jake were supposed to go but Hale has shingles and it could make the baby very sick. Luckily we’ve all had chicken pox or I’d be passing out surgical masks!

Still no word on the home buyers. They are first time home buyers so they’re probably a little skittish and unsure. I know we were. So keep your fingers crossed that it will sell soon. We’ve got a showing today for different people so at least it’s picking up now that monsoon season is over. I also added exterior shots to my online home photo tour. So if you know anyone in the market for an adorable brick 3 bedroom ranch with hardwood floors & vaulted ceilings please let me know! =) -
Saturday my trusty black sandals blew out so I went to DSW and bought some new ones. I’ve never worn Sketchers before but they are honestly the most comfy sandals ever! Here they are, I got the black ones though.

I also stopped at Hallmark to pick up June’s birthday cards and while there bought the yummiest smelling candle: frozen margarita from Colonial.
mmmmm. It goes well with the lime kick I’ve been on lately. -
We think we may have sold our house! We’re trying not to get too excited, just in case it falls through. But the buyers’ realtor said she thinks they’re really close to making an offer. Yay! They’ve asked if they can keep our window treatments, fridge, and washer & dryer. Normal stuff. But they also asked if they could have our dining room rug (because it matches the den berber) and how about this- they want our lawn ornaments! Even the birdfeeders and spinny thing from Target! How funny! So since we may be out of our house soon I thought I’d finally post pictures. These are of the inside, I’ll post pictures of the exterior later. Click here to take the tour!

Yesterday my MIL (mother-in-law) was on her way home from work, driving her fairly new (maybe a year old) Volvo when her airbags deployed – completely blocking her vision. Imagine! During rush hour! Luckily she thought quickly enough to turn off the road, but she ended up hitting a telephone pole. It could have caused a huge pile up! She’s recovering at home now from the 7 staples they had to put in her forehead. The car is totalled and she’s pretty banged up, but she’ll be ok. To make matters worse she had just taken the car in a week ago to have them check on the airbags because the light kept coming on but they said there was nothing wrong with it. Boy is my FIL mad. Plus, he’s a judge so Volvo’s going to have some tough time on their hands. MIL could have been killed!

So the other night I’m in the kitchen washing dishes. J’s going in and out of the house taking out the trash. Nelson’s sniffing around the floor near the fridge and around my feet. Nothing strange right? Then J comes in and exclaims “What the hell is that??” I turn around and Nelson and DaBrie (the kitty) are both sniffing and prodding at this huge toad! In my kitchen! Now, I grew up in the country for the most part so I’m used to critters, but J’s a bit of a city boy and I think this freaked him out a bit. J grabs a bowl I was just about to wash and scoops up the frog and puts him back out into the front yard.
He comes back in and I ask him to help dry the dishes and he says he needs a minute “because I was just catching wildlife in my house!” Wildlife? Really? And I’m the drama queen of the family? =) -
The Lion King was just amazing! The opening scene is so powerful and beautiful that I had goose bumps and I even teared up a little. The costumes are just incredible and their voices! Oh man can those people sing. It was just such a beautiful show throughout. Oh! And thanks to the celebrity sighting tip from Rachel we all enjoyed watching Patrick Page (Paige Davis’ husband) play Scar. He did an awesome job! It was just amazing how they recreated these scenes from the movie that didn’t seem possible onstage.
And by the way, my new stylist was great and did a fabulous job. I wish I’d been going to her all along! -
Did anyone else see Keen Eddie last night? I thought it was very cute. And I was so surprised to learn that the main character’s name is Eddie Arlette. Arlette is my middle name! I’ve never heard of anyone with that name before. My parents made it up. My Mom’s name is Paulette and my father’s is Arlys so they just combined them. Now my middle name is famous before I am!
We’ve been so productive this morning already. We had dentist appointments this morning then we went to check out this new funky store that has home, garden, and body products. Very cool. It’s name is DI Central but it doesn’t have a site that I can find. It did have these cute kitchen strainers from Billy Joe that I’ve been coveting for years. They had the dragonfly one that I want. I was a good girl though and didn’t buy it, even though online it’s only $10, at DI Central is was only $10.50 and I’ve seen it other places for up to $18!! Billy Joe’s site has fun dragonfly bathroom accessories like this toothbrush holder and this cool tissue holder -not dragonfly, but very cool, and a magnet that I love too. (Just in case some millionaire is reading this and loves to buy for strangers!) I did pick up a cool birthday present for someone that I love so much I might have to keep for myself! How bad is that? =)
Then we stopped into Bead Lush so I could check out their selection. I found some great beads to make some gifts for some of you lucky ladies out there. After that we waited out a huge rain storm while shopping for some groceries at the super Wal-mart. I swear that place has hands down the best people watching around.
I just got a call from my salon to tell me my stylist doesn’t work there anymore. I’m so upset! My Mom did my hair for so long and it was just recently that I trusted a stranger enough to do it. I have an appointment tomorrow and now it’s going to be with a different lady. My lady was so awesome, she made my hair look so good every time. Bah. I just hope I don’t get a chop job. I want to look nice because tomorrow night we’re going to see the Lion King production at the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center. I can’t wait to see it. We bought the tickets way back in November. It kills me how you have to buy show tickets years in advance. Who plans that far ahead??

- After searching for a decent blush forever then reading Rachel’s review of Benefit’s Dandelion I picked it up at Sephora on Sunday. It really is as fabulous as you think. It warms up my complexion- I’m extremely fair skinned. I also picked up some High Beam because you can never be too shimmery and sparkly.
- Speaking of makeup, I cleaned out my makeup drawer and the cabinet under my bathroom sink last night. It’s now been confirmed that I buy way too many lotions, potions, and cosmetics. I had bottles of lotion, bath oil, etc. still in their original wrappers, still unopened. I filled up a box (a small one) of makeup to give to my sister. I seem to buy a lot of stuff that I think will look good on me but when I get home to use it it shows up a funky color on my skin.
- I have really short legs and toes.
- Now that summer re-runs are on I seem to get a lot more done after work.
- At the post office last week I was in line behind 3 people. I thought my wait would be pretty short. Then I noticed the guy at the counter had 6 (!!) paper grocery bags full of small (perhaps 4x6x2 inch) boxes. Each one was being sent Priority Mail with delivery confirmation. Each one. Luckily the postal angel was smiling down on me and sent another rep that opened another window. That man was still there when I left. And he was only about halfway finished. I wonder what he was mailing and to who.
- J and I sometimes bicker like 7 year olds. We once fought over the difference between a sun room and a screened in porch. It escalated to yelling. **Note- we aren’t angry when we bicker like children. We’re usually laughing hysterically by the end of it. Please don’t send me emails telling me where to get marraige counseling or anger management.
- When we went to see Finding Nemo on Friday and the announcement came on about turning off your cell phone etc., they played audio of a baby crying, loudly. J sits upright and exclaims “Jesus Christ! Who would bring a baby here?! Oh great!”. I clued him in that it was a recording and that he was just annoyed about a child at a children’s movie at 12:30 in the afternoon when we were the only people there without children.
- Why is it that a box of white tic tacs can last a full month in my purse but the orange ones can’t make it through a day? There must be some sort of addictive additive in there.

I’m so excited! Yesterday after working some overtime my friend Jade and I went to this little bead store in Rock Hill, SC called Peacock Beads. The lady working there, Emily, was so very nice and showed us what to use and what to do. We spent our first hour or so just looking at all the beads (so many! so pretty! and you know I’m easily distracted by shiny things). Then we got to work. It was really easy once I got the hang of it. I made 3 pair of earrings and 1 bracelet. I’m not as fancy as Hovey yet, but I’m really proud of what I made. And now I know what all the ladies I know are getting for gifts this year!! I have a lot to learn so I’m certainly no competition for Crystal Charm! Plus, this is just for fun, not a business. Ok, here are the pictures. First we have a cute red pair of earrings (I don’t have funky names for them- it’s early in my jewelry career. ha!)

Click HERE for a close up. I wish they were open today because I’d go right back! It was so fun, I just wish there were more bead stores here. I’ve got all these ideas in my head and can’t wait to make more stuff!
