Do you Boo? They Boo in my Mom’s neighborhood and I thought I would start it in my neighborhood. So I went to the store and bought treat bags, candy, Halloweenie toy thingies like plastic spiders & skeleton straws, some Dollar Store crayons and play dough and sparkly bag filler.
I put it all together then found a cute poem on the internet to use. I drew a ghost and wrote the poem inside him.
You can print the poems out on your printer too, but I was only making 4 so I just wrote them out. Then I taped the ghost to some construction paper, folded it to make it into a card, wrote Happy Halloween on the outside and sealed it with a sticker. I poked a hole through the top and tied the cards to the bags.
Now I’m going to go deliver them to 4 random neighbors and hope they keep Boo on the run!
Bless Your Heart

Happy Halloween!
I will be hosting another edition of Bloggy Parade of Homes. This time we’ll be posting photos of our Halloween decorations inside and outside of our homes. Everyone seemed to enjoy the Christmas & Halloween editions last year so we’re going for a repeat performance!
If you would like to participate, please let me know via email or comment prior to posting day, Tuesday, October 30. OR post your pics on Tuesday, October 30th then leave me a comment letting me know you participated and I’ll add you to the link list on my main page.
Thank you & I’m looking forward to checking out everyone’s spooktacular haunts!
xoxo

When I got home from Florida there were 11 Pampered Chef boxes for me to sort through. Quite a few of them contained my free goodies that I earned by doing the party. We also were able to buy cookware at 60% off! Woohoo! It’s so pretty and cleans up so easy peasy!

The other slicing and dicing that’s been going on happened on my face! I had to have a cyst removed. UGH. CSP went with me and was supposed to hold my hand. He spent most of his time in the corner reading People magazine! Look at my pitiful puffed up red & white face:
And here’s the thing he cut out of me.
It’s like my face was saying “Hey, why do your girlie bits get to have all the fun? Slice me up too!” -
I met 8 other bloggy chicks this weekend and lived to tell the tale!
A whole bunch of amazing, super fun women converged onto Charlotte, NC for the weekend. I was only able to join them for dinner & chatting last night, much to my chagrin. Next year I’m all in baby! I’m also chagrinned about not bringing my good camera with me cause my pics are a little lame. Although the bloggy chicks in said pics are far from lame.
Attendees were: AM- organizer extrodinnaire
Sandy
Lisa J. & her awesome daughter Tori
Punchy
Kristie
Magnolia Sun
Pam
and
Tammy, otherwise known as The Woman to Goodboy Norman Featherstone
All of these women rock and I am thrilled that I got to spend a little time with them. And I can’t wait to see them all again at the next meet up! -
While I was in Florida I received a couple of phone calls from my little sister Morgan, wondering if she should cut her long hair. I’ve always supported the hair cut. Now’s the time to do it! While she’s young and can get away with experimenting. Plus, if she didn’t like it she would have enough time to grow it out before prom. So she did it. And it looks great! Before:

She loves it. It makes her look so grown up! :( I want her to stay my little sister just a little while longer. She’s going to college next year! With boys! And beer! Oy, I’m getting all verklempt!

Finally I have some time to sit down and tell y’all all about my trip to the Sunshine State.
This whole trip came about when my grandmother, Nanny, asked me to come spend some time with her after my grandfather, Pappy, passed away in January. Well I had to have a couple surgeries, then she went to Ireland and it wasn’t until the beginning of October that we were both free. So I decided to go down for a week. Once I was there a few days I ended up extending my trip. So I left on Oct 1st and came home Friday the 12th.
My father saw an opportunity to get a free ride home, so he flew up to Charlotte the Friday before I left and rode back to Florida with me. He stayed at my sister’s and spent time with the boys. Then I had to spend 9.5 hours in a vehicle with him. Shudder. This was my view on the way down.

I have been super busy since I’ve been home. Separating and delivering Pampered Chef items, visiting family and sharing pics of my trip (yay for the camera to tv cable!), going through real mail and e-mail (still terribly behind on e-mail), clearing out the dvr (deleting stuff I know I won’t have time to watch. DO NOT tell me what’s happening on Heroes or CSI or we will be in a fight. I’ll get to those soon), doing laundry, getting a mole re-cut out of my face, and finally spending a little time with my man. Right now he’s in bed yelling for me to come up so he can get to sleep. He has to work early tomorrow. So my re-cap of my trip will have to wait another day. I have to admit, all that time with no tv or computer got me used to it. I’m still not used to turning on the computer to check email. But I will try to get back into the blogging habit. And I’ll try to get caught up on all y’all’s blogs too. For now though I leave you with photos…here.

I’m home! It’s so good to be home. I got home around 10:30 last night after the longest drive ever! I had a wonderful time in sunny FLA with my Nanny but it is so good to see my CSP & my puggies. This is the first time I’ve even seen a computer in 2 weeks. We also did not watch a bit of TV the whole time I was gone. And somehow I survived. :) I’ll update later with a trip recap and pics, but right now I have a ton of mail to get through, laundry to wash, and 11 Pampered Chef boxes to sort!

Shanny asked me, the other Shannon, to post the following on her behalf. She’s off living the vida loca in Florida this week. :-)
I am in Florida living it up retiree style in a gated golf community where seniors zip around on golf carts like 70 year old nascar drivers! It is hot here. Really hot. But old people are cold so we have yet to visit a home where they keep the thermostat on less than 77. That’s the forecast for a hot day! Not the inside of your house! My nanny is loving having me here so I decided to stay a few days longer. I’m coming home on Friday now. I’ve learned to play rummikub and phase 10 and how to navigate a golf cart past buicks and cadillacs. Although I did get lapped by another cart yesterday. Those youngsters (couldn’t have been more than 65 if they were a day) were in a speedy new model cart! I miss being able to check on my blogs and see what’s going on in your lives but ill check in when I hey home. But for right now I have to go. We are heading out to a nursing home. Another action packed day!

See what it says for October 1st? Yep, I’m on the road right now. Heading for Florida to my home town for a few days of visiting with my grandmother, Nanny. My father flew up Friday to see my nephews and he’s in the car with me, I’m giving him a ride home.
Jon let me turn my Crackberry service on so I can get emails while I’m gone. Cause laptops and WiFi are scarce in the golf course retirement community Nanny lives in.
