Sunday Sara, Jake, Joey, and I went down to my Mom’s house for dinner. While there we went by the nursing home and visited with Gmommy. We took Lucy to meet her and she just loved her. How could you not? Look how sweet and teeny she is!!
After visiting with Gmommy we went back to Papa & Gigi’s. P&G gave the boys big wheel bikes for Christmas (we’re doing Christmas Eve at Sara’s and Christmas Day here so that’s why they got the bikes early). P&G wanted to have some big toys to keep at their house too. So we did some big wheel racing. It was fun.
Look at this pic Sara took of Lucy with my camera:
I just love Lucy’s little sweater! The rest of the pics from that day are here.
I made some jewelry this week for the first time in like a year. I haven’t made anything since before my carpal tunnel surgeries. But Lisa & Nikki wanted some earrings and things to give out as Christmas presents so I dusted off my pliers. I missed doing it. I was glad to see I haven’t forgotten how!
You can see the entire order here. I hope they like everything, and more importantly, I hope the people on their Christmas lists like everything!
In other news, Jorge (my car) had a close call this week. He wouldn’t start for me until the 3rd crank and mashing on the gas, he’s been sluggish, and then the check engine light came on. So he went into Toyota hospital. Luckily everything was fixed with a tune up (and I talked the dude into giving me a free oil change). Jorge and I have been together for 6 years and I still love him. I’m not ready to give him up yet! Not the most fun thing to deal with right at Christmas!
I’ve got all the presents wrapped except 2. I’ve got to add some sealant to one and then wrap it, and the other is a growth chart for Jake & Joey that I have to finish painting. I’ll post pics for sure. I realize I’m down to the wire here, so it’s a good thing I work well under pressure!
BPOH Christmas is tomorrow!!!
Wednesday the 12th was my honey’s 36th birthday. We went to his parents’ house for dinner and cake. Jon’s mom makes a theme cake every year (we have so got to have kids quick!). This year’s cake was a replica of his truck. It was really cute. Click here to see the rest of the pictures.
Tuesday the 11th was Kiki’s 4th birthday! I can’t believe it. I don’t want her to get old. She’s already 28 in people years! To celebrate I got her a bunch of new toys from Petco and her Daddy brought home some Frosty Paws puppy dog ice cream. Kiki & Molly loved it!

The 3 Ts. That’s what you need to stock your house if you’re having a visit from Irish people. They only stayed for 3 nights but in that time they went through a loaf and a half of bread, a package of english muffins, 4 sticks of butter, and a half a jar of jam. Holy smokes. They also drank an inordinate amount of tea. Speaking of, apparently my lowly electric stove boiled water at a terribly slow rate. So the 2nd morning my Nanny insisted on buying me an electric tea kettle. That appeased the Irish who drink their tea while still boiling.
Molly & Kiki loved getting all the crumbs though!
We hosted dinner the 2nd night.
We made a low country shrimp boil. It was so yummy.
While they were here my father decided to buy my nephews a dauschund (sp?) puppy. Her name is Sister Loose Lucy. Jake wanted to name her Sister Charles, I suggested Lucy so they compromised. She’s a mini doxie and is cute as can be!

We had a lot of fun with Nanny & the Irish and can’t wait for their next visit. And by the last day we were actually able to understand the words that were coming out of their mouths!
Pictures here.

Do you know how hard it is to type with no space bar? And could it have been at a worse time?? Shannon’s in China- emailing with her had to be limited to just a few words cause of the space bar situation. Ugh. I can’t wait to meet Miss Em when they come home!
So…what’s been going on with me? Busy week. Last Saturday Nanny & the Irish descended upon North Carolina. They ended up staying 3 nights with us. It was a lot of fun. The first night we went to Sara’s for dinner. Joey was a little crabby.
After dinner we brought Nanny & The Irish back here to get them settled into their rooms. The Irish are Maureen & Billy. Maureen is the daughter of Nanny’s best girlfriend growing up. She was named after Nanny. Billy is her husband. They come to visit Nanny for about 3 weeks just about every year. They live in the same little neighborhood my Nanny grew up in in Ireland. My Dad drove them all up here from Florida for a mini trip within a trip. He stayed at Sara’s. I drove Nanny’s car over here and Jon drove back in the truck. Well, Billy jumped in the truck with him.
(later)
How was the truck ride home?
Yeah, thanks for that.
Did y’all talk.
He did.
What did y’all talk about?
I don’t know. I couldn’t understand a word he said! I know it’s English, but it’s like another language!
So what did you say?
A lot of “yes, uh huhs, and that’s great!”
Poor CSP.
So then Sunday morning we woke up and had breakfast then I took the Irish to the mall. Apparently clothing and shoes are super expensive in Ireland, and with the exchange rate and the dollar being so weak, they were able to get great deals. So they just wanted to be dropped off for the day.
As we came over a hill on the way to the mall Billy said “What’s that city over there?”
That’s the mall. Collective oohs and ahhs. They had a great time and bought tons of shoes and clothes for their grandkids.
They loved the pugs and had a great time playing with them. The pugs thought we’d imported new treat machines for them!
More about their visit later…
