Bless Your Heart

2007 was apparently an eventful year.

January:

I got my stitches out from my first carpal tunnel surgery. I started drawing our calendar on the fridge (to this day it’s still the one thing people always seem to comment on at parties). CSP started sleeping in the closet. But only on occasion. We’re not weird or anything. We had a lot of work done on our house to repair crappy CP Morgan construction. We were still trying to deal with getting kicked out of the China adoption program. My Pappy died. We found out IKEA was coming to Charlotte, but we still made a trip to the Atlanta store. We started painting our house.

February:

We mourned China. I stalked an innocent woman at the mall. Jon’s car died so we bought a truck. Lisa came to visit. We had our first dinner party in our new house.

March:

We celebrated 6 years as a married couple. I had my 2nd carpal tunnel surgery. I moved my blog to WordPress. I continued to fight for a hysterectomy. I painted faces at Jake’s 4th birthday party.

April:

I made a fabulous cake for Morgan’s 17th birthday. Jon & I got fingerprinted for our adoption, and I managed to embarrass him. Imagine that? I had some moles removed. From my face. Morgan went to her junior prom. I did her makeup. And cried.

May:

I got the green light for a hysterectomy, but my uncle developed a brain tumor and my aunt’s leukemia treatment wasn’t going so well. My Uncle Adonis died. Jon and I attended a full day adoption seminar. Apparently that made Jon a parenting expert, so he gave me some advice, then Lisa said some things that reminded me why I adore her.

June:

I went on a mini holiday to St. Augustine with my Mom & Momo.   I found out that a friend and ex-coworker passed away at age 35.  I started Photo Bloggy Days, and that went really well.   And then I had a hysterectomy.

July:

I stayed in the hospital for 3 days.  Then I went home and  recovered from my hysterectomy.  I made a photo book for Papa that he just loved.  I posted pictures of my innards for all to see.

August:

I went to IKEA with my friend and her 3 kids.  I found porn on Flickr.  My blog turned 6 years old.  I saved a snake’s life.  I turned 34.  I painted faces at Maggie’s birthday party. Shannon H got engaged to mustachio & CSP bought me the Nikon D40X!

September:

Lisa got engaged!   I had a kick ass Pampered Chef party.  I dyed my hair hooker brownie red.  Olivia spent the weekend with us and we went to the fair.

October:

I spent 2 weeks in a retirement community in Florida with my Nanny.  I drove home from Florida by myself.  I met 8 other bloggy chicks and had a ball!  We booked our cabin on Lisa & Pete’s Disney wedding cruise!

November:

We hosted our first Thanksgiving and it went great!  I went to Asheville with a bunch of bloggy Tiara girls.  I made my first growth chart.
December:

I met Emily & helped welcome her and her family home from China.  We hosted Nanny & the Irish for 3 nights.  I broke our keyboard.  I joined a Bunco group.  We hosted our first Christmas Day at our house and it was a big success.

2007 was busy busy.  Way too many trips to the hospital.  Bring it on ’08.  I can take whatever you dish out.  Especially if it’s a baby.  The realist in me knows it probably won’t happen this year either.  But the eternal optimist in me keeps on hoping!
