This morning I went to my hair girls’ house and got my hair did. I was loooong over due and looking ratty. Now I’m all fabulous again. So I came home and took a nap then CSP & I went to get some Mexican for dinner. All was going pretty well (except they put that “salad” crap on my plate against my clearly explained wishes and hot lettuce mingled with my pollo fundido so there was lots of plate scraping to get that crap off of my plate and onto CSP’s). Ahem, sorry. As we were leaving I started to slide out of the booth when the leg of my capri pants caught on something. I reached down thinking maybe it was a nick in the wood or something, but no. It was GUM! YUCK! I swear to you if I ever catch my kid sticking gum under a table or on a booth so help me he/she will be scraping gum off tables for weeks! We told the manager and stuck napkins to my pants so the gum wouldn’t transfer to the seat of the truck. Ugh.
Then we went to Brusters for my free birthday ice cream. Yum.
So if anyone knows how to get gum out of cute brown capris please let me know. I googled it and there are approx. 9876986343487 remedies on the internets and I just don’t know which one to go with. The gum is blue if that helps.

I have found several different things that work. One is freeze the pants then the gum will break up and you can scrape it off with a plastic knife. The other is hair spray. Spray the spot and use a plastic knife to scrape it off. GooGone work well also. Good Luck.

Put ice on it. Either ice directly cause it will just wet the pants and you are going to have to wash them anyway. Or put ice in a bag on then onto the gum spot. It will freez off the ice. Good luck.

Definitely go with the ice/freezing method. Works great. Also works for removing candle wax off of table clothes or other surfaces.

The ice thing has also worked for me in the past.

another vote for ice.. freeze the whole darn pants.. however dont forget they are there and then have guests over.. I am recalling a certain pair of jeans I had stashed there to remove some offending goo I picked up at a resuraunt and then forgot about.. next day I had a friend over helping make dinner and when she opened the freezer I looked a little senile to her :)
So yeah. freeze em, scrape off the gum and then maybe try some “greased lightening” its my “go to” cleaner if there is a residue. I spray it right on the clothes and then use an old toothbrush to really work it into the spot or stain. Let it set overnight and then throw it in the wash like normal.. however be careful, it can bleed some colors :P
