Hey y’all. Thank you for all the sweet emails and comments. Thanks to Lisa for updating while I was in the hospital. I feel like hell. The first couple of days home it hurt getting up out of bed and off the sofa but otherwise I was feeling fine. Hey! This is no biggie! People should have organs removed every day! And then I finally pooped Tuesday night. I hadn’t pooped since Thursday. I normally don’t talk about poo on here but this one deserves recognition. It felt like an angry drunken porcupine was clawing his way out of my body. Jon heard my screams and ran upstairs and hugged me. He told me I was doing a good job while he flushed the toilet. Jon is the best husband ever.
I have ever so much to tell you but that requires sitting up here on this chair and typing and that hurts my belly. So I have to go in baby steps. I will tell you that the 3ish days I spent in the hospital felt like 3ish weeks. That it’s harder than you think to keep pugs from jumping on you, especially the belly area. That I’m not watching near the amount of tv I thought I would, nor am I sleeping as much as I’d thought. And that my doctor called Monday night to check up on me, and per my request he has pictures. Pictures people. Of my disembodied uterus. He didn’t stuff it with socks like I wanted him to (so I could see the stretching capability) but he did photograph it and for that I’m grateful. I can not wait to see those pics. My appt isn’t until the 14th or something so we’ll have to wait til then. But I promise to share.
Bless Your Heart

After what everyone said about recovery from a C, I expected the worst, but I really thought it wasn’t too bad. Hope you end up feeling the same way!! Your hubby sounds like a sweetie.

PS. I know you didn’t have a C, I’m just thinking that they’re similar with your abdomen being sliced open and such.

I remember after having my C-section (which I would think would be similar) that I went 10 days without….#2. IT was HORRIBLE. THe nurse in the hospital was admanent that I do it before I went home (like I had control) and was WAY to eager to give me a suppository (her doing it!). I said NO. It really took me a long time (month? two months) to get back to normal in that respect.

STOP! Don’t make me come over there and stuff those disembodied uterus socks in your mouth!!
Child please, how many times do I have to tell you that SOME THINGS ARE PRIVATE?? Keep the poo thing to yourself.(but I do want to see the uterus pics)

Glad you are gradually back to joining the human race. I can still remember when I had a D&C and tubal ligation done together. Granted this was 17 years ago, but the memory of THAT pain is still quite fresh. It was to be out-patient surgery, but I was literally green with pain and had to spend two days in the hospital. UGH!

You rock. Can’t wait to see your innards.
Glad the eagle landed, even if it clawed its way out. Better than having it decide to nest in there.
Feel better soon woman.

Pics of the ol’ uterus, huh? Yummy. Mark got a peek at mine when they tossed it around during my C-section. The recovery was rough the first few days, but it actually improved rapidly after that. And that first poop… They gave me “stool softeners” (aka, shards of glass) which seemed to make everything worse. For me, walking–uh, shuffling–improved things in that area.
I feel your pain and look forward to you bouncing back quickly! Feel better!!
