Living out loud in the Carolinas

Last month I posted a picture of a sausage ring I’d made. Some of you commented that you’d like to know more about it. I used to be a Pampered Chef consultant (great way to make money to pay for our wedding). That’s when I learned the ring technique. The ring is made up of crescent roll dough with a filling inside. In this case I filled it with sausage and cream cheese, but the possibilities are endless.

Other rings you can make (click on the links for the recipes):

Once you master the ring technique, it’s super easy and quick. Plus it really seems to impress people. I serve rings at showers and get togethers and always get oohs and ahhs. The only way I can get CSP to eat broccoli is by hiding it in a ring with some chicken. Another reason I like the ring is that you can come up with just about any combination of ingredients for the filling and it will turn out great. Plus, the hole in the middle is great for garnishing. Put a little bowl of salsa in the middle of the taco ring, or a pile of sliced tomatoes in the burger ring hole- you get the idea. For those of you who don’t use baking stones- mine looks like it does because it is seasoned. There’s a saying- the worse it looks, the better it cooks!
So I made another ring & took pictures as I went. Hey, I’m here for you.

wow, your pictures make it look so easy, the directions are a lot harder looking, lol :) Looks tasty, if you don’t own a bakers stone, is there another way to make this ring?

You can make this on a cookie sheet too. By the way, if you go to my pictures on flickr I tried to give directions that were easier than the ones in the official recipes.

I love that recipe.. I saw it at a pampered chef show years ago. I use canned chicken and swiss cheese with dijon and mayo. A HIT at showers.
Pampered chef makes the most awesome wooden spoons. YAY! for pampered chef.. and YAY for shannon and her recipe!
