My mom and I were talking about pirates, mermaids, gypsies, and genies and the conversation turned to superpowers. We were thinking about which ones we’d pick if we were limited to 3. Mom said she just wants one- to be invisible. That’s a good one, but I’d still go for 3. I’d pick the ability to fly, unlimited wealth, and I want whatever power it would be that would allow me to learn and retain everything, like languages and such. I suppose I’d have to come up with a witty superhero name. I’ll need time for that. I mean good Lord all I could come up with for this blog was hey shanny. But I would love to have a fabulous glittery super hero outfit. With cool boots of course. Or maybe just Manolos that I could actually run in and not kill my feet. Hmmm, decisions.
I’ve had a few flying dreams. Finally! I only had my first one like 5 years or so ago and they are awesome. I highly recommend them. I don’t think I’d fly with my arms straight out in front, or to the side like a plane though. And I’m not interested in collecting dead bugs on my face so I guess I’d need a force field with that power, please.
The wealth thing I need to explain. If I had unlimited wealth I could help so many people. I mean, crime fighting is good and all, and I’m sure I’d save my fair share of people hanging precariously from bridges. But I think that there are more people who’d like a roof over their heads and food to eat. Not too many people hanging from bridges anymore. Plus, there’s just so many people out there who’s lives would be forever changed if they just had the money to build that house or pay those bills or go to college etc.
Now the super smarts, that’s pretty self explanatory. I’d love to learn French, Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, and Italian. I figure that will get me pretty far. And if I could learn & retain everything that I read or came across then maybe I could help cure cancer or something. There’s got to be something out there that someone has missed. And I’d be able to figure out tips more quickly at restaurants and I’d never get lost driving again.

Such good questions Shanny! I would like to be invisible so I can secretly make good things happen. I too would like unlimited wealth and knowledge. I would like to help people and not just family and friends. Set up a home for the disadvantaged and teach them skills and give them a place to live while they are learning and working toward degrees. And I would put all the stray animals in the home so they would have a place to live and the person or families could have animal companions. I am just worried that people would get greedy with the wealth. I love learning. I think if you stop learning then that is the end. I would love to learn all there is and have the strength to make good things happen like cures and fun things like history and languages. Have a good weekend!
