We accidentally have the digital video recording service. Please don’t tell our cable company as we are completely hooked. I found it one day when I went to hit the 1 but hit the pause button just above it instead. And the action on the screen stopped and I was so excited! Now I can watch Ellen.
Speaking of tv… we’re hooked on Drawn Together on Comedy Central. It’s taken the place of Family Guy as our favorite naughty animated show (until Family Guy comes back- hopefully next year). They get away with so much on Drawn Together. Holy smokes.
Speaking of ex-con tele-evangelists…Jon’s Gramy was in town for Thanksgiving and then all this week. She came over to see the house Thursday and we toured her around our little town. She had brought Jon & his cousin to Heritage USA when it was in business so she really wanted to see the remains before they do away with the buildings. We were driving through and had stopped to take pictures when this man pulled up next to us and told us we could go inside and look around if we wanted to! I thought I was going to pass out. Gramy about had a stroke. Jon just groaned in agony (he’s not a fan of campy pop culture like me).
So we drove into the previously chained off parking lot, got out, took pictures, then went inside the Grand Hotel. A man met us and asked if he could help. He toured us around a little bit and gave us lots of good info. We couldn’t wander too far as it is an active construction zone. The hotel is just beautiful inside. There’s the main hotel, and the tower. He told us that a movie is going to be made using the tower as a prop. The movie company is going to implode the tower in a scene! I’m going to do all I can to watch that. So fun. But they are keeping the main buildings as they are still in good shape. A ministry has purchased the land and will be building a 5000 seat church on the grounds. They’ll be using the buildings for shops and a ministry school. A different man owns the water park, but it’s rumored he’s going to put in housing and retail shops and restaurants. Click here for pictures! Such excitement for such a small town!

I’m glad I’m not alone in my “Drawn Together” obsession. It is so sick (yet deliciously entertaining) with what they get away with, yet I am so addicted!
