Living out loud in the Carolinas

It pays to watch commercials.

Our local telephone/cable company was running these commercials about bundling your services and saving $$. So I call up and it turns out that since I already have Cingular, who they are partnered with for whatever reason I don’t know because they should really be called Crappular since I can’t get a signal in MY OWN HOUSE, which is literally only like 3 miles from a major highway, anyway, that means I’m almost eligible for bundling. We could save $15 a month, but we also needed digital cable (we already have the phone service and cable internet and you need 4 services). We only had regular cable. Bottom line is we now have digital cable, but because of the bundling thing our bill will still be reduced by $10 a month overall. So we have digital for free. Fun! Well, that’s what I thought until Jon got it hooked up and realized there is a metal music station. All metal all the time. Our lawn will never be mowed again.

I lost my lawn mowing to Sunday NFL Ticket. Luckily, the NFL season goes into winter so my lawn only suffers for about 5 to 8 weeks before it snows.

Did you ever see that Christmas episode of The Drew Carey Show where the entire neighborhood was in a decorating contest sponsored by their electric company. The winner spent $500 in electricity to save $50 on his electric bill. Hee, hee. I don’t know why but I thought of that when I read this post. (I know, I watch way too much tv.) But don’t you just lurve cable Internet?
