Baby on the Green!
A friend of mine had a crazy story for me the other day. He was playing golf at the golf course in my neighborhood with a buddy of his. They got off their golf cart at the hole and teed off when they spotted her. A baby. A human 2 year old baby! Walking around the golf course with a plastic bag full of chess pieces and wearing only a diaper. She walked right across the green and disappeared into the woods. There are houses all around, so they figured she was going home. They got in their golf cart and drove under the road through the tunnel and got to the putting green. And there she was again! And since they didn’t see her on the way, she had to have crossed the 2 lanes of road! So they knew something was up. Brent ran over to her and scooped her up. Are you lost? Yes. Do you know where your house is? No. Do you know where your Mommy is? No. So Brent and his friend flagged down a car. The driver happened to be a golf course worker with a cell phone. They called the police and turned the child over. Later they had to give a statement. It was then that they heard the rest of the story. Apparently her mom was home with her 6 month old brother. The mom didn’t even know the baby was gone! And it wasn’t the first time it had happened!
Brent now has all my phone numbers and strict instructions to call me the next time he finds a loose baby on the golf course! And Jon has decided he needs to play golf more often! =)

Hmmmm..baby girls on the greens? I need to go play golf!
I feel bad for that mother. I could easily see that happening. Some kids are just sneaky quiet on top of way too curious and adventurous. You’d have to board up your house like Fort Knox to keep them safe and inside. My #2 son was like that — still is!)

That’s why I only had one…and he’s pretty hard to keep track of. Next time the question should be, “Do you want a new mama?”

The wierd part of this is that the baby was playing chess. We need to keep an eye on this new prodigy!

That is truly horrifying and reminds me of that song they played on the radio 3 or 4 years ago with the lyric “all the stupid people are breedign”

What a scary story! Especially that poor thing walking across 2 lanes of traffic. With mommyhood coming VERY soon for me, this story totally freaked me out!

I don’t see how the mother could not notice the child being gone. Someone wake that woman up! Thank God the baby was ok. Ugh I don’t even want to think about what could have happened to her.
