Frenzy
packing…more packing…problems with the mortgage underwriting is pushing back our closing on the new house. gah!…
Thursday night I went out for my traditional birthday dinner with Sara, Amy, & Michelle. It was really fun as usual. We ate Chinese and got free margaritas all around. We chatted and laughed and had ice cream afterwards from Maggie Moos. Good times. Sara told a story I hadn’t thought of in a while and it is sooo funny, esp the visual that I’ll be sure to tell you guys all about it when I have more time.
I came home to a fabulous birthday package from Mrs. R. Thank you so much! A lovely Thank You package is on it’s way to you right now. Keep an eye out!
Yesterday was the exact opposite of good times. I found out that because of a last minute stipulation that our new house closing will be delayed. We’re still up in the air and we have to move out Tuesday new house or not because we sold our house!
I went to the new house for a waterproofing inspection and found that not all the necessary repairs have been made to the house even though they said they had. It could cost more than $2000 to fix what needs to be fixed and if it’s not fixed it could lead to a shifting then crumbling foundation. Not a small thing to leave unrepaired. I’m so stressed. That wouldn’t be a huge deal if my realtor, who I’ve raved about in the past, would act as if he’s actually on our side with all this. He keeps saying things like “I don’t see what the big deal is, it’s just the crawl space.” and “The sellers are not going to be happy with this and they could take you to court” Not true by the way and if they do then bring it on baby, my FIL is a judge. and “If this was a concern of yours then you really should have been all over it from day one.” Funny, we have been. We got the inspection report and had the follow up inspection within a week. And HELLO! Who in their right mind would buy a house or encourage someone to buy a house with unresolved foundation problems!? All the hardwood floors and crown moldings in the world don’t matter if your home, your largest investment, is crumbling underneath you. Mr. Realtor keeps up this jackass attitude and I’ll start revealing his name and website for all of the internet to see.
I had a giant peach margarita last night because of this whole situation. I may have to start a margarita I.V. if this doesn’t get any better!
