Bless Your Heart

Living out loud in the Carolinas

So here I am. At my house. Not at Ikea. &%$#@!$%!!!!

Here’s a little peak into my determination: I needed someone who could be off work today and who could drive my car home while I drove the Uhaul. So…..

–I literally asked everyone on my team at work to go with me because they’re all off today. Even my 60 yr old male boss.

–I asked my 6 months pregnant sister to go. She had to work and has a dr’s appt & vet appt today.

–My Mom, J, Hale, and my friend Michelle (all people with fairly flexible jobs who would have totally blew off work today for me) all had their most important meetings in months…today!

–I thought I had it all figured out when I thought of my littlest sister Morgan! She’d love to go, she doesn’t have a job, she could totally skip a day at school (this is an emergency people). Then it hit me. She’s 12! She can’t drive!

–I offered to do a science project for a friend of mine’s child so my friend Jade could go and not have to finish the project.

Apparently the planets have all aligned and turned fate against me at the last moment. I think I’ll go lay down on my old ratty sofa now and cry. Ha!

Actually I’ve got some errands to run. I need to get some things for the winter swap. blah blah blah. Nothing sounds as good as a killer deal at Ikea! Oh well. That just means that my next road trip to Ikea will just be that much more fun. And as we were leaving work last night Jade told me “Girl- you’ve got balls.” I guess that’s a good thing.
