Living out loud in the Carolinas

J’s birthday celebration weekend has been zipping along splendidly. Thursday we went to lunch then did a little Christmas shopping, then ended up at Best Buy where we bought a new tv for the living room. He’s been talking about wanting one for 2 years now, and there’s no interest until 2004, so why not. Boys and their toys. See, this is yet another example of how it’s so hard to shop for others without buying for ourselves! But we look at it like this: we’re doing our part to revive the economy.

That night he went to his parents’ house for dinner while I stayed home wrapping presents (the drama of Thanksgiving is why I didn’t go, I swear I’ll explain all that soon).

Yesterday we ran errands (Nelson had his salon visit- they gave him a Christmas bandanna, so cute) then we cleaned up the house in preparation for birthday dinner part 2. Mom, Hale & Morgan (and one of Morgan’s friends) came over for lasagne dinner. J opened a couple more gifts then we all trimmed our tree. I tell you, child labor is the way to go. Morgan and her friend ChrisAnne had that tree decorated in no time!

The girls reminded me how old were getting though. I told ChrisAnne that J thought she looked like Demi Moore.

“Who’s Demi Moore?”

“You know, Bruce Willis’ ex- wife. She was in Ghost.”

“Who’s Bruce Willis?”

Oh my lord, these girls don’t know Bruce & Demi?

Now, as to why there are no pictures. I’ve been using Hale’s digital camera on loan. DaBrie, our cat, knocked the camera down from our bistro table in the kitchen and it landed on the floor causing a weird memory stick error. I spent an hour on the phone with Sony support yesterday and I’m going to have to send it in to be repaired to the tune of $140. Fun. We love pets!
