Bless Your Heart

Living out loud in the Carolinas

We’re in for our first winter storm of the season today. It hasn’t really hit yet, I keep waiting for it too. They closed the schools before the first drop of freezing rain even fell. Poor J’s store was slammed. They did more business the last two days than before Thanksgiving. I can’t for the life of me remember when, if ever, we’ve been snowed in. Just doesn’t happen here.

I tried to fit in a bunch of errands before all the stores closed today. Yep, they closed early because of the weather. I’m thinking I can make it to Target even with an inch of snow on the ground, but hey- I’m not in charge. This morning we went to the dentist, then I dropped J off at work and went to paint ornaments for the swap. While there I starred in my first commercial. I even had a speaking part! The manager of Salsarita’s across the sidewalk came in and asked if they could film a commercial there. So the couple of other customers plus a few college kids that work at the art shop next door and I pretended to be at a party catered by Salsarita’s. They brought in a ton of food and we milled about making tacos and small talk. Then the camera guy had me say “This is the best looking taco road show I’ve ever seen!”. I’m totally destined for stardom.

And, don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten about telling the rest of the Thanksgiving story. More later.
