Bless Your Heart

Last night Mom & Morgan came over for some American Idol & dinner. The crock pot was king again! I made a pork tenderloin roast with potatoes, carrots & onions. So easy and it came out really good. Then we watched Kelly win American Idol. She really deserved to. Here’s a little commentary: what’s with Justin standing with his feet so far apart all the time? And was it just me, or did the UK Idol guy kind of suck? I didn’t watch every episode, so I wasn’t familiar with a couple of the finalists. Like EJ & Jim. Jim is bad. And I had forgotten what a terrible dresser that Ryan Star is. What’s with all the strings tied all over her? How terrible am I sitting there in my den criticizing all these poor kids who have waaay more vocal talent than I ever will! I can’t carry a tune in a bucket.

After dinner Husband came home from his first night on his bowling league. He had the best score for his team and was so excited. He even wants to get his own bowling shoes. So cute. Husband had to eat late, but he enjoyed the roast too.

So I was cleaning up after dinner and washing the stoneware insert for the crock pot- the actual pot. And it was all soapy and slippery and it slipped right out of my hand and broke in the sink! I was so upset! My new friend! It’s salvageable for this weekend- I have chili plans for the mountain house. The part that broke was the molded handle part, so it should still work, we just have to be careful not to cut ourselves. Thank goodness the Rival website has the inserts for sale. And they’re only $14. I ordered one last night after the catastrophe. I should have gotten two with my butter fingers!
