friday night
jon and i rented jay and silent bob strike back. it was pretty darn funny. the gag reel was good. i had read that it was a movie full of inside jokes and i guess that was true. we’re big kevin smith fans so we had to watch it. harmless entertainment. we grilled again…shrimp and steaks and squash and zuchini. so good.
saturday
mom and i made my little sister morgan’s birthday party invites. nothing like waiting til the last minute mom. the party is friday. they turned out really cute though.
then jon came home and we dyed eggs. word to the wise…do not buy the dudley sparkle egg kit!! now i am a sucker for anything with sparkle in the title. but this is a trick! the process involves filling a big bowl with water then you drop the dye on the surface of the water, swirl your egg through it and sprinkle the sparkles on it resulting in a beautiful sparkly egg right? wrong! the dye is oil based making everything it touches all sticky. it barely sticks to the egg though, so most of it slid off and left a faint trace of color on my eggs. and to top it all off you have to clean up with rubbing alcohol!! who would do this to a kid? this was a lot of trouble for us much less your average 5 year old. give me regular fizzy dye tablets any day!
